Wandfo & Easy@Home Test - line stopped darkening - is it a chemical?

Hi ladies,

I have done a few posts on here over a miscarriage I had last month (had surgical management on 2nd May) - I have been lucky enough to get pregnant again but I am slightly concerned over the darkness of my tests and just wanted some opinions.

When I was initially pregnant, I didn't find out until I was nearly 2 weeks late for my period (wasn't trying!) - my clearblue's were always strong and I bought the Wandfo's a few days later and they were also dark before changing to a dye stealer after a few days. I don't believe that the darkness of tests means a viable pregnancy as I had super strong tests/HCG and ended in miscarriage but this time is different as I am testing a lot earlier than previously and don't actually know what to expect.

I believe I ovulated on either the 26th or 27th but think I may not have actually implanted until potentially around the 5th June. My first light test was last Wednesday and had actually gradually darkened. I have found though since Saturday afternoon they don't seem to have darkened. I did a test last night which I think had darkened but then first thing this morning they were lighter than they've been for a few days. I of course panicked and about 20 minutes later did a Easy @ Home with a tiny bit of wee, which was actually back to it's normal colour that it has been for a few days.

In my opinion it's still the same colour it has been since Saturday, with the odd exception for last night. Does anyone have experience with the Wandfo/Easy @ Homes not darkening very regularly? I think there was quite a quick increase at least initially but seems to have slowed. ClearBlue is still dark so I don't really know what to think?

I've attached images which are;
Image one - dark test from last night (17dpo)
Image 2 - Tests yesterday morning first thing and clear blue (17dpo)
Image 3 - Test this morning first thing (18dpo)
Image 4 - Test from 1:30 this afternoon (18dpo)

I know the darker lines i've had are a good colour, but i'm just concerned it seems to have paused for a few days AND that I had the lighter ones first thing. I do find that my first thing wee seems to produce lighter results than later on in the day but i'm just worried the colour of it this afternoon is basically the same as Saturday.

Any experience/advice would be appreciated (other than being told not to test, I know not too but I would think testing gives you a better idea of a chemical at least if it's getting lighter).

Easy at home and wondfo took a long time to progress for me. I would also have lighter lines with fmu for some reason. I'm 11 weeks now and had two good scans so far 😊

@Salamander91 Ah really? That is reassuring and also congratulations! I have been driving myself mad but it's difficult as I don't really have any to compare to as previously I didn't test until 2 weeks late and were really dark (but actually still didn't get a dye stealer until a week after that) and this time i'm only 4 days late.
Did you find yours just stayed the same colour for a few days?

@EllieJade95 Hope your doing okay lovely, fab news you’ve conceived again☺️ I wouldn’t worry too much given your 18dpo afternoon are super dark! I’ve seen people say on other threads their afternoon tests were darker than the mornings for some reason! Easy@home did seem to take a while to get really dark and then I ran out of tests anyway🤣xx

Salamander91 · 14/06/2023 17:41

@EllieJade95 yep I didn't get them to equal darkness until about 5 weeks at which point I had 3+ on a clearblue digital and a complete dye stealer on a frer.

@ChloeN Thank you so much lovely! I feel so lucky and couldn’t believe it! But with that has come the increased anxiety 😂
I did another one at about 5pm today after not drinking anything for about 3 hours and it was even darker than my one yesterday (I think, but I could be imagining in comparison to the light ones these morning) so I’m trying to remain positive! I think it’s difficult because beforehand I didn’t test until so late by then it was already dark and I also had nothing to compare to! I am hopeful that within a few days it will be darker. Maybe I just have slightly less HCG this time.. last time I had loads but didn’t equal a viable pregnancy so I guess you just don’t know!
I definitely struggle to see change in the Easy @ Home although one test it will be lighter than the Wandfo and then other times the Wandfo is darker! Xx

@EllieJade95 oh that’s good news ☺️ I’ve had a few different batches of easy@home and some come up lighter than others even with the same wee 😫 it’s so confusing!! But yes definitely I waited till after my period was due the first time too so never had anything to compare with either! Xxx
