Bleeding at 13weeks

Has anyone had brown bleeding at 13 weeks? I'm 13+4 today but have had brown and pink when I go to the toilet and on my pad. It's accompanied by right side cramps on and off and pain/numbness all down my right leg. The hospital have checked the babies and they're all ok and have a heartbeat etc and they've put me back on cyclogest for two weeks. They're not concerned but it's a bit more today than yesterday.

Anyone had this and it's just resolved? It's my sixth pregnancy with only one living child so far so I'm having a panic at things.

If it is more than yesterday and is worrying you go to your early pregnancy unit. They would rather see you every day then you sit at home worrying. Did they give you any guidance of what to do if it continues/ get worse? I would be ringing them or going in to be checked again.

@jellybe I've spoken to the multiples midwife today and she gave me a prescription for cyclogest from the consultant. She said if it gets worse again just call triage and see what they say. No one seems particularly bothered but me 😢

Sorry you feel like they are brushing you off, completely understand that this is very worrying for you, do call triage and see what they say.

@jellybe I called them this morning and they have said unless I soak through pads and have very bad cramps there's not much they can do as I had a scan on Monday that showed nothing untoward. It's turned bright red this morning and then back to brown. I don't know if the pessaries have irritated me maybe.

It's all just so stressful.

Sorry you haven't got any answers. Are you still bleeding? When is your next scheduled appointment?

allthecats1982 · 18/06/2023 18:08

@jellybe yeah I am but it hasn't got any worse and at parts of the day it's just brown now. My next appointment is tomorrow but that's for my hyperthyroidism and not for the triplets. The next time I see the multiples consultant is five weeks time.

I don't know if this will reassure you, but progesterone irritates your cervix, so your chances of bleeding/spotting from there is fairly high, I'd have thought they'd have mentioned that being as you're so anxious!

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly thank you. I take it up my bottom now though so I would have thought that would have helped. I know anything up there on my cervix is an irritant so I've tried to avoid it. I'm just freaking out because everything you find online that looks the same people are saying it ended in miscarriage and I am more nervous now than I have been at the start. Scan on Monday to check the triplets are ok.
