Went for a 32 week scan this morning. Was told the baby was head down. Great.

Then had a private 4D scan a few hours later and was told the baby is breach. She said it's almost impossible that the baby turned into that position so quickly.

Any advice? I know baby still has time to turn either way. But I'm just so confused.

Thanks

at 32 weeks they can still move and turn around freely. Why did you have two scans on the same day f you don’t mind me asking?

At 32 weeks they can definitely move in a morning.

Position at 32 weeks is only relevant if you were in premature labour and expected to deliver. Midwives don't even start to palpate for presentation until 36 weeks so absolutely no need for anxiety.

I had two scans within 12 hours at 32.5 weeks and baby had gone from head down to breach. Baby turned again by 34 weeks and stayed down.

To be honest I would always go with the medical opinion of a professional sonographer in a hospital. It sounds like the can easily change positions within a few hours.

Hi,

Thanks for this. Was just confused by the conflicting info I received.

I had one scan via the NHS this morning and one was a 4D scan that was booked ages ago! Just so happened to be on the same day x

Wow. It's amazing how quickly it can change 😆 I'm hoping she's moved again!

I’m a midwife. A change in lie at 32 weeks can happen nearly instantly, if they flip then they flip.

And yes, it’s irrelevant at 32 weeks. I should imagine both scans were correct and the baby moved inbetween scans.
