Worried about pre-eclampsia

So I had a consultation today at the hospital. They did my blood pressure which was high at first and then tested urine which they said had protein in.
They then ask me to go have a walk around and go back half an hour later to redo them both.
My blood pressure had gone down to a normally rate but they didn't say anymore about my urine.

So obviously I googled about what this could when I came out and it said about pre-eclampsia. I had mentioned to the students midwife that I've had headaches which I now know could be a sign on it and my eyes have seemed quite strained lately to which I also read vision could be affected by pre-eclampsia.

So nows I've come away more worried that I was. I know this isn't normally picked up till at least 20 weeks which I'm only 16 and I'd put it all down to just normal pregnancy symptoms.

I've tried contacting my midwife about my next appointment but I never seem to hear back which is very frustrating

I had preeclampsia in my first pregnancy (developed suddenly at 39 weeks with only foot swelling as a noticeable symptom before that). Because of that, my blood pressure was monitored constantly throughout my second pregnancy but didn't go over the 140/70 threshold until 39 weeks again this time.

I had protein in my urine early on, I think it was my 20 week appointment. By the next one it had gone. It went and came back several times but because it was only 1+ they weren't that concerned. I think it's 2 or 3 +'s before they get really worried about it.

Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration can put +'s in your urine. I read something about colds and viruses being able to as well but my midwife poopooed that one 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully it doesn't develop into full blown preeclampsia for you but even if it does, there's lots of things they can try to help

Thank you @TeddyBeans that's helpful to know My blood pressure was 140 today then went down to 114 and 1+ in my protein.
I'll hopefully hear from my midwife soon so I can say about headaches and vision at my next appointment.
I'll try and up my water intake too!

I wouldn't worry about the +1 in your urine. Mine was almost constantly +1 and everytime they sent it away it came back fine. They will keep an eye on your blood pressure, but if you start to feel ill or have any concerns just ring the maternity triage and they'll likely ask you to come in for monitoring. Don't fall down the rabbit hole of googling every symptom, you will drive yourself bonkers, trust me, I did 😂 xxx

My mother had pre-eclampsia, so It was always down as a tick in the higher risk column during all four of my pregnancies. I never experienced it in the end but was told to take asprin.
