Anyone ever had the wrong gender told to you at your 20 week scan?

Just wondering if anyone was ever told girl at their scans and then got a boy??

Went for our 22 week scan today and the sonographer said she was unsure about the sex, that it was ambiguous, she thinks it might be a little girl but wasn't going to write it on our notes and wouldn't advise going to buy any pink ?????

Do you think if she was this unsure she should have just said so rather than waffle on with all that???

We've got a DD and I must admit DH had his fingers crossed for a boy so now it's driving me mad!! I feel just as in the dark as I was before the scan. Should I just think well, she obviously thought it was a girl more than she wasn't sure, so it must be - she is the professional after all.

Don't really have the money for the jazzy 4D scans and all that.

Hmmmm I'm waffling a bit myself aswell!!

Yup, exactly the same and I was positive he was a boy, told a girl (probably). And what do you know? A boy!

Oh, except I wanted a girl! Not that I really mind

with DS i was told at 20 weeks he was a girl. no if buts or maybes. 6 weeks later i had an emergency scan to be told i had a boy! Was left with lots of pink clothes and teddies and also feeling guilty cos i had been calling my bump Jessica!
My sister was told she was having a girl with her last child and only when she gave birth did they find out it was actually a boy! I travelled 2 hours when she went into hospital and walked in after she had given birth to be told it was a boy. I didnt belive her and even took off his clothess and nappy that midwife had just put on to check! We had to make a mad dash to buy babygros as she only had pink!

There's plenty of time for the gender to be confirmed, don't worry

Afaik, more 'girls' turn out to be boys than vice versa. I have a great photo in a pregnancy book which shows why this is; the female genitals are often pretty large (exaggerated even) compared to the rest of the body at this stage and can be mistaken for a penis and testicles. I wish I had a scanner so I could show you!

But me info is several years old now.

When I was scanned to see DD2 she said "Yep, definitely a girl, see? A burger in a bun!"

3 lines = girl

I was told I was having a boy at my 20wk scan.

It was a bit of a suprise when I gave birth to a girl, I'd already picked the boys name and told everyone .

My dd was dressed in boys clothes for the first few months of her life.

When I had my 20 week scan (@ 22 weeks) sonographer did not even offer to find out for us even after we had asked so DH and I are left in the dark for another 17 weeks, and fielding all the 'so what is it questions?'
