please help me understand if it’s positive

I had a miscarriage almost 7 weeks ago, from about a week after it happened we continued having sex as usual, we don’t use protection and both said we aren’t worried about me becoming pregnancy soon after ( baby was very wanted so the loss was actually more painful then I thought it would be, I was only 4 weeks pregnant )

so the past week I’ve felt sick, gone off of cigarettes and gone off my favourite foods etc. just been feeling shite so took a test and straight away a clear strong line came up, so it’s a positive test.
before I get my hopes up is this just the miscarriage still reading positive or considering I was only 4 weeks would the hcg of dropped by now.
does this mean I’m pregnant???

Everyone's different but I can't imagine a miscarriage at 4 weeks having a very high HCG count still 7+ weeks later. I had a MMC in January, baby had died 3 weeks before I found out, but by the time baby passed out of my body, I had negative tests within a week. I was 14 weeks at the time so it took my body 4 weeks from death of baby or 1 week from actually passing the pregnancy before my HCG tests were negative.

You say your test is a strong line still? I highly doubt its from the miscarriage but the only way to know is if it continues getting darker/ you get blood work done and see the HCG increase and then of course eventually a scan.

Hi OP! I had a m/c at 8 weeks at the beginning of February however due to loos of symptoms I believe the baby was actually 6 weeks, I just didn't start losing the baby until 8 weeks and my tests were negative by 3 weeks after and 2/3 weeks after that I found out I had actually fallen pregnant again.

I am 17 weeks and have had a very healthy pregnancy so far despite having an high BMI so just here to spread some hope and I so hope this is the same case for you!

Are you sure you miscarried? Did you get a negative pregnancy test?

never actually got a negative test as they didn’t ask me to take one and to be honest i didn’t think. but ultrasound showed the pregnancy sack has got smaller by a CM and I bled out what I believe to be the sack.

Then it sounds like a new pregnancy. It's really unlikely to be leftover HCG from the first pregnancy after 7 weeks. You might want to get a scan, if only to confirm dates given that you haven't had a period. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.
