Just wondering how you're all coping?

It's really warm here. Thank god for cycling shorts under dresses 🤣

Also running about after a toddler is no joke.

I am also finding when the baby is in a funny position I'm struggling to get a deep breath! 🥴

Will raise it with the consultant on Tuesday, but I'm pretty sure I had this with DC in my last trimester last year.

Not long now 😆😆😆

@justanothermanicmonday1 im 32+3 today🥰 this is my first baby so I’ve been able to enjoy the sun (well the shade lol) but you must be knackered with your toddler! I’ve found the last few days I feel like I have feet up in my ribs which I hadn’t felt before!

Sapphire387 · 10/06/2023 21:04

I'm only 30+2 but can I join the commiserations? I feel you re: the deep breath thing, I think they can be squashing your lungs a bit at this stage if you/they are in a certain position.

This is DC3 for me and I also have a DSD with us full-time so this will be DC4 in the house for us. The others are a bit older (9,10,12) so not quite as knackering. I do remember it being very tough with the 2 year gap between my first two, you have my sympathies. Never had a summer baby before and not loving the heat at this stage.

I need to get some cycling shorts, I swear I have a rash on my thighs from today. Just had a lovely cool shower.

Ah amazing, congratulations! Do you know what you're having? Oh I love the sun, I could lay out for hours🤣 but this time is different, as long as I'm under a parasol I'm happy. Are you all organised?

Absolutely! More the merrier 😆 wow. You have your hands full, I love that. Are they excited for a sibling? Do you feel organised? The more you have the more relaxed you feel. That's how I feel and this is only our second(and last mind you)

Omg! Please do. I can't go out without wearing mines. They are an absolute life saver!

@justanothermanicmonday1 we’re having a surprise! ☺️ although I’m very much thinking they’re a girl but I could definitely be wrong🤣 have you found out? Me too I’m out there as soon as the sun pops out 🤣 yes pretty much got everything sorted it! We’re going to build the pram in the next couple of weeks, I’m mostly just excited to give it a push round!

Sapphire387 · 10/06/2023 21:26

@justanothermanicmonday1 - not organised at all really. As you say, the more you have, the more laid back you have to get! We have set aside a few days (off work) soon to do some proper shopping - with the big age gap we hadn't kept much stuff so there is a LOT to get!

Are you expecting a boy/girl/surprise? We chose not to find out - I never find out! But don't mind either way.

Sapphire387 · 10/06/2023 21:28

@ChloeN yay another surprise! I meet so few people who choose to do that. I keep imagining mine is a boy.

ChloeN · 10/06/2023 21:35

@Sapphire387 I agree I feel like we’re the minority 🤣 I’ve really enjoyed not knowing! Have you guessed right with your other children?

You know, I've found a side bonus of not knowing is that I can't go so wild buying baby clothes! I did get the right 'feeling' with my other two (boy then girl) so I'm bound to be wrong this time 😂

Ah how exciting. We decided to find out. We're far too nosy. Having another girl, they'll be 16 months apart. Can't wait to see their little bond grow. What pram did you decide to go for? Building the pram was such a moment! You'll be emotional!

Ah that must be hard starting from scratch. You'll be wondering how you're going to fit everything in 🤣

We're in the middle of waiting to hear back about a bigger house. It's such a stressful time as the baby won't physically fit in here! But we'll make it work. It will only be for a short time.

We're having another girl! 16 months apart. So excited. Do you have any idea?

OP posts:
ChloeN · 10/06/2023 21:44

@Sapphire387 I haven’t had that bonus, I’ve gone absolutely crazy buying stuff🤣🤣 I’ll blame it on being the first baby🙈

@justanothermanicmonday1 oh that’ll be lovely☺️ hopefully they’ll be best friends!🥹 I’ve gone for an icandy, I had my heart set on an egg until I got in the shop and changed my mind straight away🤣

Sapphire387 · 10/06/2023 21:56

Two girls is lovely. I have one sister who is three years younger and we are very close, always have been. 16 months is such a nice short gap.

Like you, we also really need to move somewhere bigger!

Now prams - we live in London and everyone seems to have the Babyzen Yoyo because it's so tiny and easy to get on and off tubes and buses. I am torn between that and getting a Cosatto with a pretty fox pattern. DH votes for fox pattern! I've never had an icandy but heard they are good quality and last years - from people who have had them. So hopefully it'll see you right @ChloeN ...as for clothes, keep shopping, just make sure you start buying up the bigger sizes too, I found people bought a load of 0-3m as gifts and we barely got through wearing them all!

@justanothermanicmonday1 will you be having to get a double buggy?

NSJ28 · 10/06/2023 22:10

Hi I'm 33 + 2 😊 really not enjoying this heat!

cinnamonbiscuit · 10/06/2023 22:14

Are you me OP?! Although I’m only 30+2 I’m absolutely ending myself. Also chasing around after a toddler and can’t breathe deeply especially when lying down. And also exclusively rocking the dress/cycling shorts combo. I’m truly dreading it getting any warmer 😅

Omg! We are exactly alike 🤣 I'll be 32 weeks on Tuesday. I'm also measuring 3 weeks ahead hahaha living the dream .... I don't know how people walk in this heat, pregnant without shorts on. My thighs would be red raw. How old is your LO? Mines is about to turn 15 months and she won't sit still. Thank goodness her dad is off this week and is running around after her 🤣 xx

@Sapphire387 There’s so much choice in prams it’s hard to pick isn’t it🙈 yes hopefully I get on well with it, I’ll bloody have to now I’ve bought it anyway🤣🤣 I’m honestly dreading some of the baby clothes I’ll get as ungrateful as that sounds 😬 my partners family don’t have the same ideas as me in clothes 🤣

mrsmacmc · 10/06/2023 23:30

30+4 and feel like I've ballooned over the past couple of days!

Asda do amazing maternity cycle shorts which have been a godsend under dresses

Have dug out my nightie for bed tonight as too hot to wear pjs 🥵

CityKity · 11/06/2023 00:47

32w + 4 today! Where has time gone?! I haven’t bought a single baby item yet but have a list and just need to get going I suppose.
Amen to dresses and cycle shorts! I’m starting to run out of clothes to wear to be honest. I have 2 maternity jeans but no maternity tops, and the tee shirts / vests I used to be getting away with are getting shorter and shorter every day.
Hows everyone coping in this heat? Is anyone else’s skin a lot more sensitive to the sun? I haven’t been out in direct sun so much but my skin is tanning much quicker than normal even with spf 50? No a fan as I don’t want to end up with hyperpigmentation on my face which I know can be common in pregnant women. Other than that my bellybutton is fighting for dear life but hasn’t popped yet, it’s just a matter of time 😅

@Sapphire387 I’m also in London and surrounded by babyzen prams, but I hear they’re pretty flimsy and babies aren’t the most comfortable so don’t sleep as well. A friend recommended the bugaboo bee but I’m still a bit torn tbh.

I hope we all manage sleep tonight in this heat 🤞

Ah the egg is so lovely! We wanted the mountain buggy duet, but like you, got to the shop and changed our minds. We decided to go for tbe Cybex Gold Gazelle in Black. It's really light weight, slim & stylish. Just going to pick ours up at the last minute in hopes we get a bigger place before hand as we have no space at all!

Yes to the skin sensitivity - we were at the seaside last week and I got a little burnt where previously that amount of sun would have been fine. I am wearing a sunhat every day and so far my face is fine 🤞... We're doing the open garden weekend where lots of the private gardens in London are open to the public - yesterday was fine while we were sitting in garden squares but there was one moment where we had to get off a boiling hot bus in Aldwych and it was just... ugh.

Noted re: babyzen, tbh I would have a hard time parting DH from his dream of the Cosatto fox pattern (haha). He's likely to be using it more as the plan is for him to finish his masters while being a SAHD for the first couple of years (not sure how much ML I will take, definitely at least six months though). So I guess I will let him have his pushchair 😁
