I had severe tinea/ pityriasis versicolor for a while, it was initially diagnosed as vitiligo and I spent months plastering steroid cream on it which didn’t work. I then got the shampoo from the pharmacy that literally cured it in days and it covered my whole back ( I’m olive skinned and it looked like a map of some islands).
this doesn’t help with diagnosis though, even though yes, it does look like that. If you’re in England and will have to wait for eternity to see a GP I’d go to the pharmacy and get the shampoo. You put it on dry and wait 20 mins before getting in the shower. Then I’d let the skin catch the sun just a teeny bit after repeating this for 4 days and if the spot fades you know you’ve got the right condition and treatment .
