Transvaginal ultrasound couldn't find pregnancy

So I found out i was pregnant last week, I had a miscarriage 7 weeks and a half ago and haven't had a period since. I went in for a HCG blood test on Friday the 2nd June's which showed levels of 12 IU/L, I repeated the test on Monday 5th and the reading was 131IU/L.

I had an early transvaginal ultrasound to check everything was ok following the miscarriage in the 8th of June, which showed my uterus lining was thickening but no gestation could be said as the nurse couldn't see anything. They haven't rules out ectopic but said it's unlikely because the endometrium is thickening and could just be very early. I'm not sure when I ovulated as I did not have a period so I don't know how many weeks I am. I'm scheduled for another ultrasound on Monday 19th of June. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Sounds like you’re way too early, I’m surprised they scanned you this early. Usually takes a few weeks after mc to ovulate again, and it’s very normal not see anything on a scan at 4 or 5 weeks. I’ve seen lots of people saying even at 6 weeks they couldn’t see anything but had healthy pregnancies. I was told hcg levels need to be around 1000 to be able to see anything on a scan. Your levels have risen really well, they have just scanned you far too early, which was quite bad of them

With levels that low it shows it’s just way too early for a scan, most likely 4 weeks ish.

I hadn’t had a period between having my son and a positive pregnancy test so had no idea how far along I was. I took two tests on the Wednesday, one was a dye stealer and one was a clear blue saying 2-3 weeks. The Thursday I went for a scan and saw now except a thick womb lining and was told to contact GP. Saw my GP on the Friday who took HCG levels which came in at 4000, was scanned at EPU on the Tuesday (to rule out ectopic) and saw sac, took, and a baby with the first glimpses of a heartbeat and was date at 5weeks. Was rescanned exactly 2 weeks later and was dated 7+1 and by the time my 12 week scan came along I should have been 12+1 but was 12+6.

So my levels HCG would have been in the 2000-3000s and nothing on a scan so I’m really not surprised they didn’t see anything with levels in the 100s. It just sounds like you are very early and in these early stages of pregnancy everything grows so quickly that what you see on a scan can change within a few days (for me Thursday-Tuesday)
easier said than done by try not to worry, I’m sure by next time you’re scanned you’ll see much much more.
