Hi everyone
I'm due my third baby in December when the baby comes my other 2 children will be 3 and 1 my 3 year old son is autistic so dosnt like to walk or use buggy boards
He loves being in a pram
I'm stuck on prams and what I can do as I don't drive so relay on walking my mum lives a 3 mile walk away so I need a pram for them all
I'm really considering a wagon like in the pic
I've seen on tik tok before there being newborn carseat attachments but can't find it
Has anyone had one of these can help me out please
All advice would be great tia

I have one of those wagons and sit my children (who are older than yours) in it but no I wouldn’t put a newborn in and especially not with other children in there with them. There’s too much potential for the baby to get hurt. They’re also far more unwieldy than a pram and that handle would be really uncomfortable to pull along for a three mile walk.

I would instead get a double buggy for the older two and use a sling for the baby. Your middle child could easily use a buggy board once they’re two.

That’s a push to the beach occasionally thing, would be a nightmare every day as you can’t push them properly and they don’t turn easily either.

What about a double with the newborn in the sling and as the baby becomes bigger you can assess if your eldest would manage a buggy board- not sure of the extent of his additional needs but you can get ones with seats if that would help, or else your middle child should be able manage the board at 2. Failing that what about one of those double-double prams like nurseries have?

What about a cargo bike? You can get an adapter so you can put a baby car seat in and strap your other two in as well.

We've got a wagon, they are really not practical to push/pull unless it's a very short distance.

Also, you can't strap your children in when you really need them to stay put.

Agree with everyone else, it's a double buggy and a baby carrier/sling.

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 09/06/2023 11:47

I have one for the beach and it’s difficult to move so no I wouldn’t want to do that day in day out.

sling for little one and double buggy. Then a buggy board (for middle child once 2ish) with a seat or my eldest used to sit on the board and put his feet in the basket under the pushchair.

Our nursery have triple buggies that don't look much wider than my double. If they lie flat I'd be happier with a newborn in that than a wagon with other DC.

MathsNervous · 09/06/2023 12:06

A triple buggy would be fine for this situation, then donate once you are past that stage.

Caspianberg · 09/06/2023 12:08

Tbh i would go for bugaboo donkey. Use main seats for older two if needed and baby in sling. Then the buggy board can be used by 1 or 3 year old.

Sissynova · 09/06/2023 12:09

Do you use a double buggy at the minute? Could you not just have the newborn in a sling for a few months and then the 3 year old will be 3.5 or nearly 4 and can walk, and then there's space in the pram if the 3 year old with autism can't walk as far.

This looks like it would be a nightmare for daily use. There is a reason you don't see people using them.

Callmemummynotmaaa · 09/06/2023 12:10

OP, have you looked at a double out n about? It’s a side by side double BUT I frequently have my older toddler sit on the front plate (with the front wheel locked). They love it. They’d have to have ok balance and the ability to hold on - so not sure if it would be safe enough for you, but thought I’d share just in case.

GetDownkeith · 09/06/2023 12:15

Was going to suggest the wonderfold ad well. That is most likely what you have seen on TikTok and they are made for what you are wanting to do. Still probablyharder to get around than a buggy but a great solution to your problem

Lily189 · 09/06/2023 12:58
