If cervix starts shortening how quickly does it do it - any experience of incompetent cervix/cerclage?

Hi,

I am 13+4 wks and had a cervical scan last week showing a length of 33mm which the doctor was pleased with. He's scanning me again next week to see whether any shortening has occurred but I'm beginning to get angsty about it and imagining the world's fastest shortening happening to me. We took 2 yrs+ to get pregnant with this one and I'm terrified of losing it.

Has anyone had any experience of being monitored for possible incompetent cervix and does anyone have any information on how quickly it might happen? Thanks.

(I've had a number of gynae ops hence possible incompetent cervix).
