I'm 38 weeks and the past 2 days on and off all day I've had this really intense pressure pain in my bum, almost feels like I need to go to the toilet but I don't, when I sit on the toilet baring down makes it even more uncomfortable, I had a sweep 48hours again also, anyone else? Sign of labour??

For me it definitely was. After my sweep, I was in hospital already. Then I had this sudden urge to push. Have you called your midwife?

I haven't called anyone yet because I've not been contracting around the front or anything x

I still think it's worth while calling. They might want to check you over! Xx

Yes sounds like contractions, the pressure pain feels like bad constipation, you would just keep thinking you need the toilet but nothing happens 🤦🏻‍♀️
I remember my first time, when I was in labour and didn't know, all night I was running to the toilet to think it's No2 but nothing would come out, then it just got worse and I called my midwife early morning, upon examination I was 8cm dilated, but it wasn't until further 9hrs till my baby was born.
Good luck hope all goes well and you meet your little baby with good health 🙏

Oh no way I didn't know this! Even if you can feel anything around the front?? The pain comes every hour or so feels like a tennis ball up my arse😂 sometimes it last for like 10 minutes, I've been feeling it quite intensely for 2 days now x

Please call your midwife. X

When you got back labour you will mostly feel pain and pressure in the bum and lower back, and front of about is mostly in the pelvis, well it was for me anyway, I've had both experience's.
You said it feels like a tennis ball, that most likely the babies head pushing down.
No harm in getting checked over, to see how your progressing.....Now if it's not labour then could be hemorhoids (but I suspect it's the former)
Your practically full term so don't be surprised. Is it your first baby? If so labour can take a while, mine was 19hrs long...the other were shorter

Eeee ring your midwife!

I’m 7 weeks PP and remember this feeling so well, i was induced and had a failed epidural (numbed one leg but nowhere else 😂) and for me the pain and pressure in my bum happened when i was fully dilated but was more painful than my other contractions.

I remember telling the midwives i needed to poo and had pressure in my bum but they said it couldn’t be time as id only been induced 4 hours prior to this pain, they kept me going an extra hour and i begged them to check because the pressure was getting worse and i was 10cm dilated! 2cm-10cm in 5 hours; my little girl was born 45 minutes later 😅
