We went from 2 to 4 and just adjust automatically in a different way. Had all 4 at home including the twins no problem loved it all. Now we just run around after 3 lively toddlers and a teen lol I

Much easier than 1st labour (13 hours), but slow as in 2 hours compared to middle labour of 23 minutes!!

And transition super easy, 3rd child super relaxed as not all the fuss and stress is focused on them

  1. exactly the same as DC2, induced at 41+3 at 1pm, dilated to 9cm by 6pm, had epidural and baby born at 8pm.
  2. no, 1-2 was worse!
  3. No exactly the same.

Third pregnancy much much tougher than 1 and 2. Nothing majorly wrong but so very tired and achy. Could barely stand by the end.

Third birth was super quick, recorded as 18 minutes of labour on my notes so whilst intense was over v quickly.

Third baby was tough for the first few months but is now an absolute dream at 8 months and super smiley and happy. I think I am a much more confident parent to a baby but also exhausted from looking after all 3 of them (all under 5) so it's swings and roundabouts.

Wouldn't have it any other way though, I love having 3 even on the really tough days 😊

Labor three much the easiest. So much quicker and really manageable with gas and air - just a breeze compared to the other two!
Transition to three definitely the easiest - was all fairly chaotic anyway so didn’t feel much worse. They’re teenagers now and I really love how they are together - they’re very funny!

My third is 12 months old. My first came 14 days late - induction and foreceps in theatre. second came 7 days late- natural birth and home within hours. Third came 11 days late ended up with emergency delivery in theatre. Third was my smallest baby at 6lbs 🥰.
Transition from 2-3 is by far harder than 1-2 (in my opinion). I'm still finding it tough now and struggle daily. My third doesn't sleep well though so that doesn't help. Best of luck x

Number 1 gruesome
Number 2 was easy
Number 2 somewhere in the middle but I was seriously ill and in hospital for a month afterwards

Baby 1 EMS after full day labour 5 day admission - terror for feeding/sleeping
Baby 2 forceps full day labour again - terror as a toddler
Baby 3 quick home within 2 hours start to finish - laid back from day one.

All now teenagers/tweens all bloody amazing. All the best for your brood, no matter which stage you find difficult it ends one day and you look back in awe of how you coped. But you do cope
