I just had my first consultant appointment and I honestly feel quite let down. I've previously had two difficult pregnancies (small babies, C sections, two previous miscarriages and reduced movement) I was happy with my care until now. I suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum and it's under control but I am concerned that I'm still not gaining weight despite being on anti sickness. I'm also sick at least 3 times a day still.
I asked the consultant if this would hurt the baby and he told me to stop dieting. I feel really uncomfortable with my care now.
Does anyone have any positive experiences?

Sorry op not positive but 2 negative if you want to hear them? It’s not too late to change hospitals.

I'm happy to hear them :)

I had my two there in 2016/2019 so a little while back now.
We couldn't really fault it. Emcs with first and planned with 2nd.
But none of my appointments were there, just the nearest hospital with a labour ward. Sorry you're not feeling confident about the care there now.

I am not sure about the antenatal care with regards to diabetes. They don’t see diabetic women until 32 weeks!!! I feel like that’s many months without being monitored from the 12th week scan? Or am I overthinking?

I had excellent care there with two babies. EMCS, brilliant midwife who watched me like a hawk and got excellent medical care quickly when needed.

Second time I voiced wish for ELCS, I was treated like an adult. The supervisor midwife and then consultant ( female ) listened and then agreed that I knew my own mind and had carefully thought it through .

The midwife led care area has all private rooms. The postnatal ward is a bit average but they all are..

I would recommend it .
