Hi, Has anyone else suffered tiredness and exhaustion in first few weeks of pregnancy?

im around 7 weeks at the moment

I can’t make it to lunch time without a nap🤣 I’m so exhausted I could cry, it’s really frustrating - I’m not very good at sitting around doing nothing

how long will this feeling last?

I felt like this until I was 12/13 weeks, I couldn’t stay awake later than 7pm and on weekends could regularly sleep 3/4 hours during the day as well. It doesn’t last forever, I feel much better at 20 weeks

Absolutely, really normal. For most people it get better in the second trimester. It might just be regular pregnancy tiredness, but pregnancy massively increases your risk of anaemia. The midwife will test for this once your appointments start and if your iron levels are low they’ll prescribe iron supplements (which will be free once you’ve got your maternity prescription card) but if you can afford it, it might be worth starting an iron supplement now.

It usually goes away by the second trimester then comes back in the third, although imo the first trimester is the worst

It’s so normal but also horrific! I felt exhausted and thought it would never end. It peaked from week 7-9 for me and is a lot better now that I’m 11+5
