15 weeks pregnant but don't feel pregnant

I'm 15 weeks pregnant but I don't feel like it, I'm already very anxious about being pregnant anyways because of previous early losses and it took us over 3 years to get pregnant, but I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I've had no issues so far every scan has gone really well, I've not had any morning sickness, I've not had any massive cramps or anything but I just feel like waiting so long between scans makes me anxious, I had a scan at 6,8,10 and then 12 weeks so it's weird to me I haven't had a recent scan, I have a scan on Sunday which is a private gender scan but even after that I have nearly 5 weeks before another scan and at the moment I just don't feel pregnant, I can't feel kicks, I have no symptoms, I don't have a huge bump, I kinda just feel like nothing, is this normal? Does anyone have any tips on how to feel a little bit less stressed about everything (I've spoken to my midwife about the anxiety she's aware)

I was the same, pregnant after 7 MCs and no symptoms. In fact I remember around those weeks 14-18 well because as the bloat went down I didn’t even really have a bump so it felt like nothing was happening at all until I felt her move for the first time at 18 weeks. I remember panicking at 17 weeks when I had a couple of days of cramping but apart from that I didn’t feel any different. I only started showing around 19 weeks.

So it was normal for me too. You’ve had lots of good scans OP. It’s hard to relax after loss, believe me I know. For me it really improved after my 20 week scan because it felt like we were over a big hurdle and I could feel her move. Then I started to feel like perhaps I would get to hold her and bring her home. However I was under a private consultant so was scanned every fortnight up to that point. I was grateful for that but I’m not sure it helped other than in that moment when I was actually looking at her on the screen.

Yes so normal. I had an identical experience at 14-18 weeks. No symptoms, no kicks. We had a gender scan at 17 weeks and all is well. I'm starting to feel movement now at 19 weeks (2nd baby too) so try not to worry!
Believe me when I know that's easier said than done though!! My first pregnancy I was a nervous wreck

Washthedog · 07/06/2023 08:35

I distinctly remember feeling this way between 12 and 22 weeks! I had an anterior placenta so felt movement quite late on, sickness had disappeared and hardly any bump. Mine was an anxious pregnancy too (IVF) following many years TTC and several miscarriages. Just take things one day at a time but know that it is completely normal to feel this way at this stage of pregnancy.

doeandfawn · 07/06/2023 08:43

Honestly the most common pregnancy symptom is imposter syndrome! Same here, 3.5 years TTC unsuccessfully, finally got a positive when we had fully given up hope, the whole first half has felt fake until I felt them move. You’ll start showing and little one will kick you at some point and the anxiety will relax.

skulldungarees · 07/06/2023 08:52

Totally normal! It took 5 years for us to get pregnant and I had so much anxiety between scans. But once I started feeling kicks, which can be as early as 16 weeks, I felt much better.

That said, some people don't feel kicks until 22/23 weeks, so don't worry if you don't.

Lottie3665 · 07/06/2023 09:25

I feel exactly the same! I'm 15+2 and just feel really normal. My clothes are a bit tight, but I've put on so much weight as I've been stressed (house move etc) and lost all my routines so it feels like it's down to eating and lack of exercise more than a baby. Everyone keeps saying the bump can be quite uncomfortable so I'm trying to enjoy these few weeks before it all starts to feel very real very quickly! Just know you're not alone feeling like this xx

I'm terrified. Second baby 6th pregnancy. I feel nothing apart from boobs being a bit sore. I go for my 12 week scan in a few hours and already had a wobble and a cry. I'm beside myself with worry. Had a missed miscarriage and scared it's happened again. Feels like a fantasy that I'll actually ever have another child. Sorry for the ramble I just don't know what to do with myself anymore, I'm just pacing the house.

I feel exact same. Pregnant with my second. Had 6 losses. Had a missed miscarriage with my first and so scared of it happening again. My 12 week scan is next Friday. I hope yours goes well ❤

onecarrot · 07/06/2023 11:32

Thankyou. I wish you all the best too.

MariaVT65 · 07/06/2023 11:33

I’m also 15 weeks with my second pregnancy and feel the same as you :) I’m just a bit bloated and feel a bit sick if I get hungry, but that’s it. Not feeling any movements yet either x

I'm really sorry about your previous losses, I definitely understand the way you feel, before my 12 week scan at the hospital, I grabbed my partners arm and told him I didn't wanna go in, he could see the look of panic on my face but we went in and they were running behind so I had to wait longer than I wanted too but as soon as we got in the ultrasound tech was really lovely, straight away she showed us the heartbeat and even let us listen to it which was a nice surprise (I know not all hospitals do this) but she then showed us the umbilical cord and told us it was baby's future belly button, she showed us the tiny feet, it was all worth it. I know the 12 week scan is scary and I hope it all goes well for you, I'm sure you'll be over the moon once you see the heartbeat but I definitely understand your anxiety around it ❤️

Thank you everyone, this is such a weird time in pregnancy, I spoke to my SIL who said the same thing as me, she said she didn't feel pregnant until about 20 weeks and how awkward it felt going out and buying stuff for a baby you can't see or feel yet, but everything has been fine so far so I'm holding out hope our baby is going to be fine, I'm excited to see the baby on Sunday but I'm also really nervous!

I just wanted to update you. I went for my 12 week scan not feeling hopeful or pregnant and it went really well. Most definitely pregnant.

firsttimemum1230 · 07/06/2023 14:26

I had this around this time in my healthy pregnancy and then it all came back! It was absolutely fine. I paid for a lot of private scans but I know not everyone is able to do that!

HiCandles · 07/06/2023 14:30

I think this is a very common experience, I had it too. It does feel like a long long time until the next routine scan at 20 weeks. Be warned as well though, I know some upthread have said about feeling movements at 22/3 weeks, with my first it was a lot later as I had an anterior placemt

HiCandles · 07/06/2023 14:31

Sorry posted too soon. I had anterior placenta and that muffles movement. I felt something around then but not actual reassuring kicks until about 26 weeks. Baby was totally fine when born!

Hey.

I just wanted to offer you some reassurance because I remember searching for threads on this a lot between 12-20 weeks until I reliably felt movement. I lost all symptoms some days I just thought I was dreaming about being pregnant!

I am now 36 weeks and there’s definitely a baby in here so try not to worry if you can, I know it’s really hard but your feelings are normal. Good luck OP for the rest of your pregnancy.

Monikkas · 08/06/2023 13:38

I had horrible sickness throughout my pregnancies (multiple hospital admissions) and I still panicked I wasn’t pregnant. I remember at 9 weeks doing another pregnancy test to triple check and throwing up afterwards.

It’s an awful time waiting, I would maybe book another scan if you have the money to put your mind at rest.

Just so you are prepared once you do start feel baby moving then you panic if the movements are normal or not. Are they moving less? Etc.

I found practicing my breathing and hypnobirthing (loads of free videos on YouTube) really helped my anxiety

doozledog · 08/06/2023 13:47

I had no sickness or symptoms at all until about 12 weeks, which is when i started with round ligament pain. Im now nearly 19 weeks, massive bump but absolutely no symptoms or kicks! I also was dredding the 20 week scan but after going to the hospital on saturday with terrible pains wose than id experienced before they did the dopler,i heard the heartbeat and then the dr gave me a quick scan and all was well.

15 weeks pregnant but don't feel pregnant
OnMyJourney · 07/01/2024 06:59

@Kimbozox

Congratulations! Honestly being in this stage of pregnancy is tough especially when you've had previous losses. I booked so many private scans to have reassurance as I was so anxious about everything (if you can afford private scans it's so worth doing for peace of mind). I didn't really start feeling pregnant or have a proper bump until close to 18/19 weeks, this is when I started to feel kicks and got a bit of a bump, like yourself I didn't really have any pregnancy symptoms until later on when I got sciatica. I was anxious and had previous losses too but i carried on to have a mostly healthy pregnancy until I developed preeclampsia at 35 weeks and had my little one at 37+2weeks but she was born perfectly healthy and it was all worth the stress. I mean the anxiety never stops even when they're born but looking at your little person makes it all worth the stress! I hope it all goes well for you ❤️
