First midwife appointment

Hi, recently found out I'm pregnant I'm 8 weeks today & I did the self referral online for my pregnancy notes on Friday, (I know I won't get a call straight away) but I was wondering how long other people had to wait to receive a call from the midwifery team to book their first appointment?

I'm 25 weeks. I think it depends on the area, as friends of mine down south it took a few weeks but for me it only took about a week and it was all done through an online system called MyPregnancyNotes.

I got a call within 48hours! We have something called badgernotes and all appointments are loaded onto there but they needed to call to just let me know that's how it's all done now ☺️

Very much depends on area. In my trust, I had to call the midwifery team directly. I called at 5wks and they booked me in that day for an appointment when I was 8wks (ish).

Just had my booking appointment at 12 week's, referred myself at 7. I never got a call had to chase this up 3 times.

I got called the same day.

I self referred at 7 weeks, got a letter by email a week later and had my booking appointment today at 9+4

Was there anything on the self referral saying 'if you don't hear from us in x days then give us a call'? In which case you should hear within that timeframe

I self referred on a Monday and got a letter with my appointment on the Thursday - my trust are quite quick it seems

Totally depends on area. I got my appointment date on the phone at the time when I self referred I didn’t have to wait to be contacted back but most seem to have to wait

Thanks everyone! When I registered it just said "please note: if you have not already been booked, somebody from your hospital should be in contact over the next few weeks."

I might give it till the end of the week, then just give them a call to see if I can get through to someone
