Pregnancy success rates after seeing yolk sac at 5 weeks

Good afternoon,

I just wondered what the success rate was of a pregnancy continuing and an embryo appearing after a gestational sac and yolk sac has been seen at 5w2d.

Do your chances of a successful pregnancy increase once a yolk sac has been identified?

Thank you!

Hey :)
I had a scan Friday before last, due to spotting, and some pain, could only see a gestational sac. Another sonographer looked at the images later on and said they thought they could see a yolk sac (but she didn't want to commit to that statement based on someone else's images. It was the lady at the EPU that told me that someone else had thought they could see a yolk sac.
I went back Friday just gone and I had a clear gestational sac, yolk sac and a fetal pole with a heartbeat :) I'm around 6.5 weeks.
They told me I had a perisac bleed which was causing my spotting.
Good luck x

The only thing I’ve heard mentioned is once a heartbeat has been identified it increases chance of successful pregnancy. Although of course it doesn’t mean it’s all fine. But you wouldn’t expect to see a heartbeat until around 6 weeks.

Unfortunately the first trimester is a big just wait and see.
