Very dark brown discharge? (Pictures included)

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this type of discharge in early pregnancy? I think I’m around 5/6 weeks. I’ve already had an early scan and everything is in the right place so that rules out an ectopic but I do have a follow up scan in a week to make sure things are growing as they should be after only measuring 3mm at the scan.

I’ve not had any bad cramping or pregnancy symptoms really, more so just an overall feeling of “not well” and some discomfort in my abdomen almost like a feeling of pretty intense fullness / bloat / swelling from my ribs downwards.

Hoping all of this is just normal but thought I’d mention it here before contacting EPU as I’ve done so in a previous pregnancy (MMC) and was always just told unless I’m in bad pain or I’m bleeding bright red that I’m not to worry.

That looks like very old blood. It could be implantation, cervical changes or something to do with where the placenta is forming.

I had bleeding similar to this in one of my pregnancies and it was put down to implantation and that the placenta had formed over the entrance of my cervix. (luckily it moved as pregnancy progressed)

I had this type of bleeding (small amount) for 3 days when I was 5 weeks pregnant
Probably just some old blood from implantation!

Hey, i had a light period for a few days 5/6 like usually starting with red blood then slowly getting darker then it stopped for like a day or two and now I started spotting again.. a few hours nothing/ some bright red/ dark red it’s basically all types thru the day and now I’m experiencing dark brown… I never had this type of brown before I don’t know what is this I just went to my gynecologist right before the spotting started and everything was perfectly fine. I also took a pregnancy test and it’s negative. Do you think it could be a pregnancy or it’s just period? This would be day 9 of ‘’ period/spotting’’ ( we are trying to conceive for a few months now but nothing) sorry for my English. Thank you

I am having the same 3weeks after still born baby girl but had bleeding then 2days had the dark blood for few hours could I be pregnant again? I've cramp in tummy and back ache and headaches I got all of this when pregnant before

Hi! I've been experiencing the same thing. I had lighter period than usual and it came a week early. Now, im still spotting dark brown just like that in your picture. Any updates if you get pregnant?
