Baby is usually active in the evening but for ten minutes this eve he just went absolutely crazy, really rapid movements along with hiccups. Appreciate it is a change of pattern but has only happened once so not sure it warrants a phone call. It has worries me though as my DD suffered seizures when she was a few hours old (cause never found) has anyone experienced this random episode of rapid movement also? With or without the hiccups? The hiccups were very quick too, one every second ish.

Go and get checked out, you should always get checked for ANY change in movement not just decreased movements.

Chances are everything is absolutely fine and baby was just having a good old wiggle but you will feel so much better having had a medical professional telling you that instead of sitting and worrying and wondering whether everything if is ok.

Another vote to get it checked out, don't leave it to tomorrow, give them a call or whatever the process is locally to you & ask for advice, or if you can go in and they monitor you.

Definitely give triage a call and they will be more than happy to check on baby, it will also put your mind at rest ☺️

Please get checked out.

I called for a similar reason and they did not care. They didn't ask me to come in and said it's only really for decrease. Having said that I'd still call your midwife for advice.

I had an episode where I felt as if baby was having a seizure, rapid juddery sensation. It was at a time of stress for me (the morning of my wedding lol) and midwives attributed it to this, they said I could have a scan but they were not concerned and told me to relax and enjoy my day!

I had 3 periods of rapid m movement like this during pregnancy that went on for about an hour each time.

I went and got checked every time and thank god everything was okay and baby had just decided to be super active but always go and get checked out if there is a decrease or increase in movement that doesn't feel like normal for you 😊

I had a 5-6minute rapid movement session once when I was 34weeks. I was in hospital in the ward for my bp. Having ctgs while I was there, the baby was very quiet so the midwife tried to poke/shake the bump. Then the rapid movements occurred and we both felt them. It scared me a bit but the midwife seamed ok with it.

I can’t be sure because I have no clue what position he was in before, but 5 days later a doctor checked and said he was engaged.

I say another vote for going to get checked.

Thanks all. I went & got checked. All was fine at monitoring but they've booked another scan for me which I'm told with any change of feral movement is standard these days. It won't be for another ten days averagely. Glad I went. I'll go back if it happens again too.
