BFP after MC

Louise1997x · 04/06/2023 16:37

Hello!!
iv just had my BFP im about 4 weeks 5 days. We have been TTC for 18 months had MC last year at around 5 weeks. I’m super anxious and feel I can’t be excited about this pregnancy because the MC happened around the same time. Im already having symptoms with this pregnancy which I didn’t last time which I suppose is the only bit of reassurance. Anyone else been in a similar position and any advice on how to get through the next few weeks :( xxx

I've had 3 early losses and pregnant again. Trying to stay positive but it's so hard :( sorry no help but know how you feel xx

ChloeN · 04/06/2023 17:31

@Louise1997x yes! I had a mmc before this pregnancy and I was so anxious, and like you this pregnancy I had loads more symptoms that didn’t disappear like they did with the mc so that helped! I just tried my best to think it would be okay but accepted I was going to be anxious no matter what! I tried to keep busy and just take it day by day xx

suz2285 · 04/06/2023 17:32

Yep there's a lot of us on the pregnant after miscarriage thread, currently just over 7 weeks pregnant after a MC In March at 7-8 weeks and worried but hopeful 🤞🤞

Ged94 · 04/06/2023 17:48

I had my first baby with no issues (and lots of symptoms)

Second pregnancy turned into an early misscarraige (at 11 weeks but growth stopped at 6ish). I had no symptoms and felt great so I thought something was wrong

Third pregnancy (currently 38 weeks) and I've had some symptoms throughout but not as bad as the first and all going well

Good luck, you'll feel better the further along you get x

Louise1997x · 04/06/2023 18:14

@Emmamoo89 So sorry to hear that, fingers crossed for you ❤️

@ChloeN it’s so difficult isn’t it, even when I got the positive test I just wasn’t excited at all which really shocked me. Im guessing I might feel more hopeful with time. But like you said the symptoms are a good sign🤞🏼 good luck with everything ❤️

So sorry to hear that, Did you find this out at your 12 week scan? it’s so worrying and something I suppose we have no control over which makes it even worse. Iv just booked in for an early scan in hopes to put my mind at ease. Congratulations!! Not long now❤️ I hope everything goes well for you

@Louise1997x thanks lovely❤️ hope your early scan goes well, when’s it booked for?xx

Ged94 · 04/06/2023 19:14

Thankfully not, I started having bleeds and they did scans and baby was measuring behind and they told me it could go either way and then I had a big bleed and knew that was it. Must be worse for people when it comes out the blue

I try to think that the baby I'm currently pregnant with wouldn't be possible so it all worked out (for me) for the best

Aw I’m so sorry, that must have been difficult. it seems like you have a really positive mind sent even with all the pain. And that’s a good way to look at it xx

@Louise1997x I’ll be 32 weeks this week! Ive had a lot of sickness this time round but I’m grateful as weird as it sounds🤣 I never got any of that with the mc so it was almost a bit of reassurance I suppose! I have been really really anxious though, I thought it would end once I had a positive scan but it hasn’t, I just find something new to worry about 🤦🏻‍♀️xx

Oh congratulations the final stretch now!❤️ yeah I think I will be the same as you to be honest, i want to say I’ll feel better after the 12 week scan but I’m being very naive 🤣 I suppose there would be something wrong with us if we didn’t worry a little 🤷🏻‍♀️xx

I had a mmc at 9 weeks found at a private scan. Then went on to have an early miscarriage at 6 weeks 6 months later. Took a year and a half to fall pregnant again and I have my 12 week scan this week, I'm terrified of it being bad news and feel completely out of control of my own destiny. I'm not scared of the miscarriage it's the turmoil that comes after. I have no advice but you're not alone with your anxiety. I keep telling myself I'll feel better if this scan goes ok but I honestly don't think I will. Desperate for something to go well in my life for once it's been a tough few years. I cant sleep or concentrate I'm slowly going insane. I just get told to think positive which I hate, feels like it's so easy for people to say when they aren't in your shoes

i have everything crossed for you 🤞🏼it’s really heartbreaking when people who do t understand try and reassure you, it’s the “just relax it’ll happen” that really gets me! I think that’s why it’s been difficult for us because it’s taken us a while to fall pregnant both times😢 I think what’s been said above, taking everyday as it comes. I really do hope your scan goes well❤️

I totally understand how you're feeling. I had a MC in February and conceived my next cycle so I had no period in between, I was so extremely lucky but an absolutely nervous wreck for the first 8 weeks!

The things that helped me were reminding me that my body had no memory and that this is a new pregnancy and new outcome.
I booked a private scan for when I couldn't settle myself to believe that everything was okay and dreaded each scan, but with each milestone, it eases your mind.
I also had a lot more symptoms this time, nausea, tiredness and bloating, a little bit of sickness but nothing crazy, that all really helped ease my mind in the first 8 weeks, I know it's not reliable to be reassured by symptoms but it made me feel better nonetheless.
Im 16+0 today and have a scan tomorrow, the anxiety is still very much there but it has taken a backseat now to excitement. Threads on Mumsnet kept me sane, getting reassurance from everyone who had felt similar so I would definitely recommend joining a few, even if you just read and wait to post in them until you feel ready!
We're all behind you with our fingers crossed that this is your rainbow baby 💞🌈

Aw congratulations on your pregnancy❤️ it’s quite reassuring knowing a lot of you guys have said you’ve had more symptoms with the next pregnancy! Also thank you for all that advice. That’s made me feel so much better, I might write down some positive affirmations today and see if that helps! I’ll definitely look into a couple more threads, feel I have a bit of impostor syndrome at the moment which I know is so silly. Thank you for your kind words ❤️

@Louise1997x thank you!🥰 let me know how you get on next week, I’ll be thinking of you!xx

Mangotango39 · 06/06/2023 10:32

I get you!!!!
I only found out Sunday and I am terrified . Similar stage aswell.

2 previous MC through accidents. This was your first month trying and I am lucky to have fallen.
I saw my DR today and have booked a scan in 3 weeks time. I didn't want to go too early incase nothings there yet and I get the fear!!!

I should be between 7 - 8 weeks then (ovulated late so I can't take last period 100%)

MC definitely takes the sparkle off when you fall again is how I feel but like you, waaaay more symptoms so far and implantation spot/brown discharge which I have never had before - taking as a good sign .

wishing the best for everyone!

it definitely take the excitement away for sure, I was super excited when I found out with our first pregnancy :( good to see you have a scan booked and that’ll hopefully give you some reassurance! Let’s just hope it gets easier with the weeks and months that go by xx

I will let you know for sure! I got one of my colleagues to scan me today (which I really didn’t want to do so early on) but was having left sided pain and thought was having an ectopic. Couldn’t see much as I’m not even 5 weeks and have a retroverted uterus 🤦🏻‍♀️but could definitely see a GS 😍

That's so lucky to get a scan! Sounds like it's progressing perfectly having a sac! Yay!!!

I have a few twinges in my left side to but then it's kind of moving round , sometimes pelvic and back. I am just very twingey 😅
My lovely friend has an ectopic recently and that worried me too x
