Elective section booked on a strike day

Should I be worrying? This will be my second section and I really really don't want a vbac, but my section is booked in for the date that the strikes are due to start when I'll be 39+2

I am completely in favour of the strikes but the closer I get to what's been a very tough pregnancy, it's hitting my hard that it might not come to an end when I'm expecting it to now.

Is it likely that it could still go ahead?

Consultants and specialty doctors will be covering for junior doctors on strike so there's a good chance your section will go ahead as planned.
Could you talk to your midwife about bringing the booking forward a day or 2 if its making you anxious?

My elective section was booked for next Wednesday 7th, one of the strike days, and I had a call Thursday night saying they had to cancel it and moved it to 2 days later.
Like you have had an incredibly hard pregnancy and there are medical reasons for my section and I was devastated. In my opinion it was handled very badly, it was a 5 minute call in the evening when the lady on the phone could hear I was dealing with my toddler and I wasn't given the chance to ask questions and was given no options. I just burst into tears.
I am completely in support of strikes but when it results in a patients care being negatively affected (my consultant wanted my section asap) I think it's shocking.
I would say that if you haven't heard anything already then your section will probably not be affected.
Best of luck!

Ahh I don't know what to do! Maternity care where I live is so bad too so I don't have a midwife I can directly call with any queries, just the admin team in the hospital :(
