Will it help you not want to tear your own uterus out?

Maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lol

BlueKaftan · 03/06/2023 11:02

It helps with hangovers but not sure about birth?

mushroommummy · 03/06/2023 11:02

Wise up

Pahahah good luck achieving orgasm in that much pain Grin maybe that's what you're into?
I thought this was an urban legend lol

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 03/06/2023 11:07

I think if you are lucky enough to be able to then it might, but I certainly wasn't mentally or physically in a space where I could have, especially with a room full of strangers staring at my vagina.

waterlego · 03/06/2023 11:09

Well I suppose it might but you’d need one for each contraction really. That’s an awful lot of orgasms. I feel like it would be a bit unfair on the midwives too. Not sure they’d want to watch you engaging in sex acts during labour.

Think you might be a bit busy with other things tbh!! Think you might be getting conception and birth mixed up!

BreathesOutSlowly · 03/06/2023 11:09

Actually my two home births (in water) were the two biggest highs of my life. Probably didn't orgasm per se but refer to them as 'orgasmic' because they were so bloody amazing. The hospital ones were not.

waterlego · 03/06/2023 11:29

@BreathesOutSlowly Mine was quite euphoric but not orgasmic.

oliveandwell · 03/06/2023 12:39

If you're in the right head space for it, then yes, especially in early labour when it helps the all important oxytocin flow.

In properly active labour I don't think so - mainly because I think it's really important to let your limbic brain take over and let your body do its thing. I think trying to have a orgasm would bring your mind back in to your body too much.

TinyTeacher · 03/06/2023 14:37

I don't see why it would be a problem in early labour. But in the active part it would seem a bit odd.... I couldn't imagine feeling like it! I just wanted to pace around. I had a great birth for my eldest (water birth, highly recommend it) but that sort of thing just wasn't on my mind, I was busy doing something else!!!
