Hiya I was just wondering if anyone can help me. In 4+4 and the last 3 days I've had no line progression at all. This is really worrying me as I should be about 21dpo. The clear blue I did gave me some reassurance but the strip tests just aren't getting any darker what so ever.
Thank you!

Seriously, surely one pregnancy test is enough?!! You will make yourself ill obsessing like this!

Successstory82 · 02/06/2023 08:15

Throw away all those tests
do not test for another 5 days
then test

DrMarciaFieldstone · 02/06/2023 08:17

You don’t need to test like this. One positive test is enough for now.

Creditcrunch2243 · 02/06/2023 08:18

That’s not how pregnancy tests work. Just throw them away now.

MeMyCatsAndMyBooks · 02/06/2023 08:19

That's not how pregnancy tests work. You'll make yourself sick with worry stop.

MaybeBabyTwo · 02/06/2023 08:23

I'm having a similar worry but much earlier than you, only 8dp5dt.

I also know that with my daughter, my tests were all over the place and even lighter one day! She was obv fine.

Try not to worry - and I'll do the same!

That's not how pregnancy tests work! Stop stressing yourself out over this, you will make yourself bad. You have one pregnancy test with a very sure positive showing. Give yourself a week and then test again. You can even book an early scan for reassurance. I had one at 9 weeks and you could very clearly see the heartbeat ❤️

Sagittarius25 · 02/06/2023 08:29

Internet cheapies never seem to go as dark as quick! I had dye stealers on first response early on but my internet cheapies didn't dye steal until I was like 6 weeks pregnant. Try and stop testing!!

MaybeBabyTwo · 02/06/2023 08:32

All of these 'that's not how pregnancy tests work' comments 🙄🙄🙄 nobody is saying that they for definite get darker a certain amount each day, and they will be variable based on urine concentration etc, but as a general pattern this is exactly how they work! The more HCG in your system, the darker the line. It is unhelpful to tell someone struggling with anxiety around conception that it isn't how they work when it quite clearly is!

Then they max out, don't get darker and can indeed go lighter due to hook effect. I was told by EPAU to take a test at 7 weeks and panicked when it gotten much lighter than at 4 weeks, diluted my wee 20 times and bam strong again, down to 50 times, still super strong.

They're meant as a yes/ no not quantitative. Keeping testing beyond the very early stages and comparing is a recipe for anxiety.

Thank you. I've had so much anxiety surrounding this pregnancy and I have no idea why, definitely going to not test for a few days and it's just consuming me. I test at the same time every day and there is just no progression. Can't help but fear the worst when you want something so badly.

I understand the anxiety definitely - but I would say these are lovely strong looking positives and on the internet cheapies, it's hard to get a much stronger line than the one you've got. I think once you get a clear positive like you've got in the bottom few, it won't show much more than that.

I'd also say if you suffer generally from anxiety, pregnancy is a really emotional time - if you can get yourself referred to the perinatal mental health team this could work wonders in keeping yourself calm and rational - especially pre and post birth.

Janey3090 · 02/06/2023 11:49

Maybe try a clearblue with the weeks indicator on? I was also super anxious due to infertility prior to my pregnancy so I do understand the anxiety. I found doing a clearblue once a week really helped as I got the 2-3 weeks result then 3+ weeks so it really helped reassure me that things were progressing x

To be honest todays the first day I've not tested and I've felt so much better. I'm going to test again on Monday I think with a clear blue. How were things for you?

@babyD20 That is great new! I am so happy for you. I hope you have healthy pregnancy. I am worried that my test are not getting darker from last 3 days. I am 15 or 16dpo and from last 3 days they are same. Xx

Honestly try not to worry! I was beside myself with worry and really thought the worst. Mine didn't progress at all for days at a time. Best advice is to stop testing and test again in a week! Good luck! Xx

@babyD20 Thank you so much! You are right I need to stop doing test as it only causing me stress xx I need to remind myself that I am pregnant as of now. Xx

PickledScrump · 13/10/2023 18:25

@Mas05 mine got lighter between 11 and 14dpo I was convinced it was a loss, I’m now 38 weeks pregnant. First time I’ve ever tested more than once for line progression and the anxiety it caused was unreal. Wouldn’t recommend it at all

Mas05 · 13/10/2023 18:29

@PickledScrump Bless. Hope you have easy delivery and healthy baby. Thank you for sharing this. I didn't do any more test in my first pregnancy. I don't know why did I feel I have to do these in this pregancy. And it is causing Amxiety!

Rainbowbaba · 23/03/2024 19:29

Your post gives me a bit of hope. Mine are the same tests and haven’t darkened since 18dpo I’m now 20dpo. Did yours ever get darker after? I know they are cheap but still can’t help worry xx
