Worried about late 12 week scan/screening

Hi guys, just need somewhere to vent.
Ive had my letter through for my 12 week scan but I’ll be 13+6 by the time I go for it (dates are based on both my last period and a private scan done at 9 weeks). I’m now worrying that they might change my dates and if I end up later by more than 2 days it will be too late to do the screening, I’ve phoned them today to try and bring the scan forward and they basically admitted it’s cutting it fine but they don’t have anything sooner and hopefully the dates won’t change.
Has anyone paid privately for the combined test? I’ve had a google but can’t find anywhere that does it.
Hopefully I’m worrying for nothing and everything will work out x

If it's too late to do the combined test they will do the quad test instead at a slightly later date. This happened to me, I was within the timeframe for my 12w scan but baby was in an awkward position and they couldn't get the nuchal measurement. So I had to go back a few weeks later and they did a quad test instead. (I forget the difference between the tests)

Unless you have any risk factors (age, smoking etc) othen I wouldn't worry too much, you'll get a test either way!

@Purpleflowers21 I looked at this too after the baby wouldn’t lay right at the 12 week scan so I didn’t get the screening, I was going to opt and pay for NIPT instead! I didn’t in the end and just had the quad test at my 15 week rescan instead xx

@Spottypineapple glad to hear I wasn’t the only one with an awkward baby🤣

Thank you for that, it’s my partner stressing more but I feel like it’s passing onto me - I’ve told him he needs to calm down and I don’t need the stress.
I don’t smoke but I’m 33 so I don’t know what age would raise the risk?
It’s our first so I guess we’re just excited and want everything to be okay with this scan so we can tell people and are at buying things

Thank you for that, I’m trying to relax and keep positive until my appetite next week

@Purpleflowers21 Im sure if they saw anything concerning at the scan they would say, but totally get your fustration I asked to be rescanned a few days later so I could have the screening but they said no, just seems a bit unfair really! X

In this case I'd just wait and see. You don't even know how they'll date you yet so it might turn out to be a total non issue. Look at it this way, if either the combined test or the quad test flag a high risk you'll go on to get further tests anyway. But there's no point in stressing about going privately before you even had one of those!

Also, if everything goes well at the scan you can still go ahead and tell people and buy stuff! I don't think people tend to wait until the results of those tests as they only give risk factors, not a yes or no. Good luck - try not to let your partners worries rub off on you (and as your pregnancy progresses, make sure you make decisions that are right for you and your body, and not be influenced by anyone else's opinions) x
