Labour and bad stomach (sorry)

Hey all,

bit of a funny question but how soon after having a dodgy tummy did your Labour start? Or how soon did any signs start after this?

im 40+4 and have been experiencing a bit of a bad stomach today (sorry), my baby has been very active as always and I’ve had quite a lot of pressure down below however absolutely no signs as of yet. I know this may just be a coincidence and could mean absolutely nothing in regards to the little one making an appearance, I’m just curious.

just wondering what it was like for everyone else, as I know everyone’s experience can be so different.

My body had a bit of a ‘clear out’ a few days before labour started. It’s a common pre labour sign as your body is making sure baby has a clear path. Sounds like it won’t be long

I was induced so can’t answer for myself but I know my sister in law had a bad tummy both times she was expecting and on both occasions went into labour within hours during the night.

That was my friends only sign that she was actually in labour 😂 and there was me (a midwife!) sat chatting to her in her kitchen about 2 hours beforehand none the wiser!

I had a guppy tummy all day and thought I had stomach cramps that evening - turned out they were labour pains and baby was born at 10am the next morning
