Erm... I guess you can, you can go out in the sun while pregnant but I guess skin is more sensitive so yuo have to be more careful... but I am not totally sure.

Rosa · 20/02/2008 17:24

No I believe as the rays penetrate the skin and could do damage to the baby.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 20/02/2008 17:24

I would say they were a bad idea at any time and while they might not hurt the baby, I can't see that it would do them any good either.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/02/2008 17:25

They say not, I think it's because the heat can cause you to feel faint and your blood pressure to shoot up.

Am also not sure if you skin is more sensitive to sun when pg.

Eeek, ok, listen to the others

jalopy · 20/02/2008 17:27

I wouldn't use a sunbed and I'm not pregnant.

geordiemacminx · 20/02/2008 17:30

Pre-pregnancy I used to 2-3 times a week - wouldnt have dreamt of going whilst pregnant, although not sure why, perhaps because I didnt want to put my baby in any unecessary risk?

MiMao · 20/02/2008 17:35

why would you want to?

chipmonkey · 20/02/2008 18:23

No, mothers should not use sunbeds at all as there is an increased risk of their children becoming orphans.

chipmonkey · 20/02/2008 18:26

Thanks for replies, have used sunbeds a couple of times in the past, haven't used one for nearly a year.
Its not something I would use all the time, and I am fully aware of skin cancer risks by the way, I was really just wondering if they could do any harm to an unborn, that was all.
Not planning on using one, just wondering, like you do!

I checked, you're not allowed. You're not even meant to be in the sun for long. I think that's why you always see pastey pregnant women like me... and I was a sunbed queen until I got pregnant!

That last post of mine was from ds3 btw!
