Anyone had cervical cerclage?

I had a complicated pregnancy with my daughter many years ago and had shortening cervix and dilating at 22 weeks.
It was too late for a cerclage stitch therefore they did the same thing with an Arabian pessary to keep my cervix closed.

This time I am 13 weeks and have been having some pains in my cervix, I asked to bring my consultant appointment forward due to the pains and worry and they couldn't.
So Today I paid £200 for a private cervical length scan which showed exactly what I have been telling them - shortening cervix of 2.8cm.
I have reported back to the hospital who have agreed this is too short for 13 weeks, And due to my history with my daughters pregnancy they have agreed to do the stitch tomorrow.
I am now terrified this is happening so quickly and so scared - has anyone had this stitch and did it work this early?
Thank you in advance x

Hi! Did you get the cerclage? I have mine booked for Monday at 17 weeks (preventive as I had an early baby last time around). Let me know your experiences

No I didn't get it that day because the consultant was not there and the doctor on call was not confident to do it and wanted to wait till the week after when the consultant was back.
I was so upset and went home begged my GP for progesterone pessaries for the meantime.
I took it morning and evening for those 5 days till consultant was back and then he scanned me on his return and my cervix had gone back to 4cm.
So I am being monitored now every couple weeks and so far cervix is stable at 4cm with daily progesterone so they haven't suggested stitch 🙏🏽
I'm nearly 18 weeks now x
