Hello, looking for reassurance… I’m normally 9.5 stone and healthy bmi. However as entering 2nd trimester weighed myself last week to find I’ve put on a stone in first trimester. Which I’m ok with…However, then in this last week, I’ve gained 6lbs! Is this normal- I’m definitely eating more but panicking something wrong to cause such a quick gain??

No advice but just wanted to say i’m 19 weeks and have already smashed on a stone and a half. I am mortified!!! It’s not for want of trying either! I work out and i’m 2 years post gastric sleeve so i’m not doing anything different!

You have my empathy!

Ah thank you… it helps to do others in same boat! Was panicking maybe something wrong! Hopefully will ease off as we progress! X

I wouldn't be worried honestly. Do you think you've noticeably gained a lot of weight across your body....other than your bump/breasts I mean? I gained a lot of weight during my first pregnancy, I think it was close to 20kg by the end, but I knew it wasn't excess body weight so I didn't care.

Remember, there's a lot of extra stuff going on inside your body......you have amniotic fluid, increased blood volume, a larger uterus, larger breasts and the placenta on top of the weight of the baby. All this stuff will add weight on the scales.

@shivawn tbh, I feel only gained bump/breasts and across thighs (but that’s where I would normally gain)… and not so much as anyone would really notice. I think I need to try and not overthink but so hard! Thank you for your reply :-)
