Precum pregnancy?

Hi all,

So, not actively trying to get pregnant and if I am pregnant then the universe decided to gift us with a second child.

Me and hubby are very careful. He always wears condoms during intercourse but we do get up close and personal before it.

I ovulated around 9th of May (I don't track it but I always know cos of discharge and pinching pain)

Has anyone got pregnant from precum?

I have long cycles and usually start my period on day 32. I'm 5 days late and I've done a test and it's negative so I'm totally confused. How late did you get a positive? Thank you.

It’s very doubtful but in theory could happen.

GiveupHQ · 30/05/2023 10:35

Only if he was inside when this “precum” occurred

which would be sexual intercourse rather than getting “very personal”

so perhaps just put the condom on a bit earlier

GiveupHQ · 30/05/2023 10:50

Me and hubby are very careful.

not really if you’re starting a thread about this

Scabbyknackers · 30/05/2023 10:52

If you are preg then I'd say more likely to be from a small split or defect in condom that went unnoticed than foreplay. Covid can send cycles haywire if you've had a bout of that lately, or even a jab.

It is rare but it is possible. That's why, in sex education, pupils are taught to ensure the male "covers up" before the penis goes near the vagina. Pupils are specifically told pregnancy is possible without penetration if semen is "leaking".

PickledScrump · 30/05/2023 15:11

Yes it’s possible if there was sperm in it. But if you are 5 days late and somewhere around 21 DPO then then you should be getting clear positives by now if you were pregnant.

Whathefisgoingon · 30/05/2023 15:32

I’m sure I read a while ago that it’s not just precum, it has to be precum on a day where they’d basically ejaculated earlier, so sperm could still be there.

DP and I had unprotected sex (pull out method) for six years and I did not fall pregnant once, however when we started trying for both children I fell pregnant on month one and with the second on month two!

If you're 5 days kate for your period with a negative test and a long cycle I doubt your pregnant. Maybe stress?

QueefQueen80s · 30/05/2023 18:48

Yep twice. He pulled out and 30 seconds later he came, so I got pregnant on the precum.

Theamofm · 31/05/2023 11:20

Still no period yet and another negative test. I've had mild period like pains and back ache since yesterday afternoon but nothing else.

Apparently late implantation is a thing so it's either that, or something unrelated to pregnancy going on down there.

I don't feel stressed and in all honesty I'm probably less stressed at the moment than I've ever been. IDK I suppose I just hate the not knowing.

Thanks for your replies.

I think 5 days is still within the normal range.

My periods range from. 28-36 days!

PickledScrump · 31/05/2023 12:42

@Theamofm implantation occurs anytime from around 6dpo to 12dpo (this would be considered late) and then it takes a few days for hcg to rise. Even if you had implanted late it would still be showing by now. It’s not uncommon for your period to be late or even skip one all together, even if you haven’t experienced it before.
