5 weeks pregnant- mild bleeding/spotting IVF

Where to start!
IVF 5 day embryo transfer on 9/5/23. Confirmed pregnancy via beta and hcg bloods. 1900! 5+4 days today. Felt great and then 4 days after the confirm which is 2 weeks post transfer, bleeding started.,ranging from fresh spotting blood to intermittent pinkish/pale mucus. 2 occasions I had wiped and saw fresh blood. First day and 3rd day of this happening. Within an hour of each, just pinkish/almost no tinge in mucus discharge. Still on day 3 of this nightmare! Rushed for private scan on 1st June as too soon for EPU…only just got referred! Have pregnancy symptoms still and only very faint period-pain-like symptoms I’ve had for weeks anyway.

thoughts!! I know I can’t get really answers, but similar stories or ideas welcome! :)

I also just wanted to say that I’m currently not experiencing this fresh blood/bleeding with any clots or shoulder pain if any kind.

Update for anyone who sees this. It was a subchorionic haematoma. Baby okay with heartbeat 💗

Thanks everyone! I’m still bleeding but I’m told this could go on for a while! Hematoma’s can be very scary, visually, but it’s unfortunately normal to pass a lot of bleeding, including clots.

Hello this is my 1st IVf with frozen embryos transfer. Yesterday doctor said I am pregnant 🤰. I was so happy but today November 5th I am having bleeding when I go pee!! So nervous now.. any suggestions please .. what should or shouldn’t be doing!!

my first bleed lasted about 10 days, then sadly had another bleed scare at 19 weeks that lasted about 2.5 weeks. Still pregnant and doing well! Due in Jan! All was fine in the end

Lots of rest, stay hydrated and keep in touch with your midwife team. Any bigger changes in the bleeding (heavier, redder, worsening clotting, severe pain), please get that assessed. Bleeds are very common for ivf babies, and mostly it’s fine, but always check with your midwifery team. Good luck!
