Positive tests and and bleed then a negative test

Using this app as a lifeline at the minute.
I have done 3 positive tests then seemed to come on my period as normal ish slightly heavier but nothing I seemed worried about. I have tested again tonight and it’s completely negative, I’m so confused as I thought I’d still be carrying HGC. I’ve recently been treated for a water infection so have felt unwell but still experiencing pregnancy symptoms. If anyone could shed some light or similar experiences.

thank you x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’m sorry. If you have bled and then tested negative, I would feel it’s safe to assume you have miscarried. Do you have an EPU that you can self refer to, so that you can confirm?

I had two days of faint positives then miscarried with a negative test that day (had this twice). It's known as a chemical pregnancy and probably very common.

PS sorry you're going through this. It broke my heart and was such a rollercoaster of emotions in such a short time.
I hope you have lots of support from your partner. Be kind to yourself. 💐

Thank you so much. It wasn’t expected as I have the coil. I would like it confirming officially to put my mind at rest but I know in my heart what’s happened xx

I don't think EPU will do anything to confirm, there's nothing they really can do except tell you to take another test in a weeks time.

Whataretheodds · 29/05/2023 19:53

Sounds like a confusing time. How long did you have between the positive tests and the bleeding?

TheShellBeach · 29/05/2023 20:13

So sorry, OP.
You've had a chemical pregnancy, which is an early miscarriage.

Laurenc3011 · 29/05/2023 21:56

Just a few days

If you have the coil now, then a positive pregnancy test indicates an ectopic pregnancy - coil doesn't protect against it I think 🤔

As it's now a negative test, should be okay, but might be worth double checking. xx
