C-section hospital bag: how many maternity pads/pants to pack & breastfeeding items?

Hey everyone! My c-section is scheduled for tomorrow and I was just wondering how many maternity pads and maternity pants (I'm taking both) to pack?

Also, if you breastfed, how many breast pads did you take, if any? Should I also take the cold breast therapy stuff, like the cooling pads, or is that more for later? Thank you! :)

I didn't have a C-section so won't comment on pants and pads. Breast pads id take a box in- you can always bring j them home again if you don't use them. Cooing can affect milk supply so I wouldn't use this for the first six weeks. Do take some Vaseline for sore nipples though

Hello, Good luck for tomorrow!

breast pads, your milk won't come in for a few days so you might not even need them. Even when my milk came in, I didn't leak and probs changed them twice per day the whole time I breastfed.

Maternity pads, just a pack will do, but again depends on blood loss! There will be some available in the hospital I'm sure.

Cooling pads - I'm sorry I've never heard of!

I'd go two pack mat pads as min. Keep more at home in car and someone can bring more in if needed.

Think I used one pack on the first day !

I had a section. They provided pads and I didn’t bleed much. Didn’t need the breast pads as my milk didn’t come in for nearly 2wks and even then didn’t require a pad!

Also I was out after just over 24hrs (got there in labour at 3pm, section at 7pm - was elected but as I went into labour my slot was booked for a week’s time! Then out 4pm the next day). I barely used anything in my bag!!

Didn’t need pads until the first week after c section here.

Never heard of the cooling thing. Personally I would get a milk collected eg HAAKA so when your second boob leaks when you feed from the first, that you can collect the milk and use it for baby
