Bump soft at bottom

Hi all, I’m 37 weeks pregnant and the bottom of my bump has gone soft. It was hard and now I can literally grab it. We went for a scan on Friday and head wasn’t engaged - could it be engaged by now?

If bottom of bump is soft that sounds like head ISN'T engaged. Once the head is engaged their back is at the bottom of your bump so that but is firm and the top "drops" or softens as there's more room.

My stomach has done the same OP. Midwife said my baby is engaged but facing my hip slightly so the back isn’t necessarily running down the front of my stomach for example.

i actually asked the doctor at my scan on Friday if he was engaged yet and (I’m having an elective section and found this a bit rude to be honest) he said ‘who cares, you’re not pushing him out, we’re doing it for you’…funny you should mention being faced slightly to your hip because I know the baby is sitting at an angle, or was anyway as of Friday.
