Random text sent through for Womens Gynae appointment??

I've just had a random text sent to me for an appointment at the woman's gynae assessment unit on the same day I'm meant to have my 20 week scan. It's made me super paranoid something is wrong. I've not had any issues highlighted at my midwife appointments so I'm really confused why I've been sent this appointment. Does anyone have any idea why I'd be sent to this unit in pregnancy?? I've had no bleeding or problems so I'm really really confused.

Is there any chance you could be under consultant care at all for any reason? Obstetricians and midwives at my hospital use the gynae outpatients area to hold their clinics.

However, I would phone just to make sure there hasn't been a mistake.

Maybe that's just the department the scan is administered by.

@Dyra yes I was consultant lead but only for thyroid levels and was discharged for midwife care at my last appointment as he said I wasn't high risk and my pregnancy running smoothly.

@oliveandwell that's the only thing I can think of. I'm meant to be having my 20 week scan at my local small hospital but I'm thinking they could have cancelled and rearranged it at a different hospital without telling me. Just so frustrating that nothing has been explained and I've received this random message with no explanation.

Do u have the NHS app. As you can usually view letters for appointments there. It may give u more information. Or does the text give a link?

@MotorOilHeiress no I don't have the app but do have my appointments sent to me electronically and nothing is on there.

When I rang the number on the text it says radiology so even more confusing 🙉

Why don't you just ring them and ask?

Radiology will be for your scan, probably just a reminder of your scan appt.

@WonkyBricks yes I think so too. I think they've cancelled my original scan at my local hospital and rescheduled it for a different hospital. Will ring them tomorrow to find out.

I had the same text for a couple of my midwife appointments at the hospital. I didn't get a reminder text for my scan.

I figured they deliberately didn't mention any words like pregnancy or midwife just in case someone happened to see your phone and you didn't want them knowing.
