Please tell me your experiences if you tried it to have an easier and faster labour/birth, also is it safe to take from 32 weeks or is this dangerous?

I'm looking to purchase this one to be specific, anyone tried this?

I can only speak from my experience but I drank that tea from 37 weeks (once a day then went up to twice a day from 39 weeks) and had a very quick labour! Less than 10 minutes of pushing!
Had my baby at 39 + 4, I’m definitely going to drink it this time round too but wait until 37 weeks again.
I quite liked the taste, it’s like a peppermint tea!

Did nothing for me! 3 day labour 😫

PurpleBananaSmoothie · 28/05/2023 21:31

I used that brand. It says when it’s safe to use it from as I can’t remember. If not, check with your midwife. I had an induction but it was a relatively quick induction at 38 weeks with no interventions. I don’t think it was specifically down to the tea but it was one of those I figured it couldn’t do any harm (as long as I didn’t have it too early).

Stormydanielss · 28/05/2023 21:34

I had it with my second (due to being induced with my first 9 days late and the most horrendous time) so thought I'd give it a go
I think at the time they advised from 36 weeks
I had him on my due date - by c section cos he was huge, but my waters did break that day

I used it and DD was born two weeks late after a 4 day prolonged labour....so.....take it if it helps to feel like you're doing something proactive but keep your expectations low, and don't buy an expensive one!

From first twinge to baby being born:
Number 1, 24 hours ( no tea). I was in agony.
Number 2, 45 minutes (with tea).
Number 3, 30 minutes ( with tea).
I can't remember when I started taking it exactly but was towards the end. I got tablets from Holland and Barrett. The second 2 labours were so easy , I wasn't even sure that the baby had come out!!
I'd swear by it obviously 😀

Dotcheck · 28/05/2023 21:45

I used it with both- no stretch marks

Coco9910 · 29/05/2023 07:12

I drank this brand from 37 weeks and I ended up being induced at 41 weeks exactly and had a 30+ hour labour then a emergency c section, so it didn’t do much for me, but I’d drink it again. I liked the routine of it and made me feel like I was preparing!

peachesandsweets · 29/05/2023 07:14

I drank that tea from 35 weeks last time religiously and went to 42 weeks, had a forceps delivery and an episiotomy lol!

I don't think it did much so I've not bothered this time!

Frankie789 · 29/05/2023 07:27

I drank it, along with dates and although I was induced (RFG noted late) it’s was quick 6.5 hours from pessary being inserted with only 30 mins of pushing. I’ve started the dates now at 34 weeks again and need to order the tea. Whether it helped who knows but I’m happy to give it a try.

Thepossibility · 29/05/2023 07:40

I took the tablets because I hated the taste. I think it worked x 3.

WoolyOctopus · 29/05/2023 13:18

I drank it religiously with my first baby from 34 weeks and labour was 6 hours from start to finish at exactly 41 weeks. Have done the same this time and am currently 38+3 so let's see how this time pans out!

ThomasinaLivesHere · 29/05/2023 13:25

Did nothing for me. It’s so hard to say on individual cases whether it did anything as naturally you’ll get easy and difficult births.

SiouxsieSiouxStiletto · 29/05/2023 13:32

Drank so much of it and had quickish labours. First one was around 6 hours and second one was 3.

The MW actually asked me if I'd been drinking it when she first examined me the second time and said "oh good, we won't be here long then@ and have a big smile Wink

Megsz · 22/01/2024 15:59

I took it from 32 weeks with my first born (little girl) I was induced at 38+4 and had a 4 hour labour delivered in 42 minutes! She’s now 10 months old. I’m currently 34 weeks (with a little boy) and having sweeps from 37 so I have started it again! I’m using the raspberry leaf from Holland and Barrett and the twinnings raspberry and cranberry exactly the same as I did with my little girl x
