Small bump maternity jeans

Hi everyone,

So I'm 14 weeks today and I have a bump, it's not huge but it's noticeable and sticks out. I'm really struggling to find jeans that are comfortable, as part of my work uniform we are required to wear black jeans, which I don't overly have an issue with but they massively dig into my stomach, I currently wear jeggings from Tesco (best things ever non pregnancy lol) but they're starting to hurt my stomach and dig in to a point where it really hurts, I've tried sizing up but it doesn't do anything they're just slightly more baggy and look weird.

Has anyone found a brand like preferably over the bump that actually fit a smallish bump, I was already a chunky girl anyways, not huge but my belly wasn't ever flat but my stomach has definitely grown over the last couple weeks, if anyone has any maternity Jean/jeggings recommendations I would really appreciate it

I bought Next's own brand slim black over bump jeans and I've been really happy with them. I've worn them between about 4 months and 8 months and they still fit nicely.

If it's just the stomach area can you do the hair elastic trick? Just wear your usual jeans undone and loop an elastic through the button hole and then the other end round the button.

Otherwise I can recommend the H&M maternity jeans, I could only wear them up to about 27 weeks each time so better for smaller bumps I think!

OP same recommendation as @EvelynSalt for the next ones - I've managed to bag a couple of pairs on Vinted too so might be worth checking out there save some ££££

When I was pregnant I got some nice jegging type things from H&M

I know how you feel - my bump is quite small but I was uncomfortable in my normal jeans from 12 weeks. I got some Dorothy Perkins over the bump ones and the bump part was too big for me until about 20 weeks but I wore a belt underneath the bump which made them very comfortable and fit fine

Another vote for h&m. I had to stop wearing them around 20 weeks as the bump bit was very small. I wore them for the first part and am now in a Topshop pair that have a bigger bump bit.

Thank you all for your recommendations, I have bought a range of maternity jeans from the shops suggested, I'm gonna try them all on and return the ones that don't fit too well 😊

@OnMyJourney
I bought h+m, they're my go to.
But just a word of warning, when you buy from Vinted the elastics normally stretched and they go all saggy.

Happened to me when I thought I was bagging a bargain 😂

I swear by folding the elastic of the over-bump style (any brand) down over itself in half. So the top of the elastic section sits along the denim 'waistband' / bottom of the elasticated section. This keeps them up much better and has worked for me 14 - 24 weeks so far. I think I'm still a few weeks off wearing the band up and over the bump!

OnMyJourney · 29/05/2023 13:12

@KDxOx oh that's a good idea I didn't think of that! I'll give that a go when they get delivered! Thank you!

@VictoriaBlossom

Oh no haha, I love Vinted I spend way too much money on there 😂 I did buy a couple pairs off of there so hopefully they come out okay, says they're brand new but I guess I'll see 😅

River island do brilliant ones. I got a lot of mine actually from the next clearance but they stock river island

Hollyppp · 29/05/2023 19:42

H&M were the best I found

OnMyJourney · 30/05/2023 11:53

I went to H&M yesterday and bought a pair and I really like them, they don't fit 100% but they're pretty close, my partner suggested washing them and putting them in the tumble dryer to get them to fit a bit tighter which I'm gonna try and hope that works
