What painkiller gel/cream can be used in pregnancy?

I’ve sprained my hand/pulled a tendon (not sure which!) and absolutely nothing helps.
I know I can’t use ibuprofen gel so is there anything else that might help that’s topical? It’s driving me crazy I can’t use my dominant hand 😂

thankyou!

I was told that oral paracetamol is the best and safest bet during pregnancy.

Have you looked into carpal tunnel at all? May not be the issue at all but this can be common in pregnancy and may have similar symptoms? I think they suggest strapping it up if you do have it.

I’ll have a Google thank you! It did come up yesterday when I was Googling but the pain is in a different place.

ive been using paracetamol sparingly but it isn’t touching it at all, hence my quest for something topical haha x

How frustrating, I've wished I could take nurofen so many times while pregnant as paracetamol doesn't do a lot!

Your best bet is to ask a pharmacist. I hope it gets better soon

You can be prescribed cocodamol I believe. Definitely worth an out of hours consultation to get a prescription.

Thanks!
I’m waiting on a call back as we speak as my fingers keep going numb & I’ve got awful shooting pains up my wrist so hopefully they’ll have some advice!
