Hello,

After starting to bleed lightly on Wednesday morning I took myself to the EPU.

They did my HCG bloods which at 2584 were low for 8 weeks as I thought I was.

Today I had a scan and nothing was seen in the uterus…not even a sac. They also couldn’t see/confirm it as ectopic. I had further bloods and I suspect they will give a plan of action based on these next results.

im here to see if anyone else has experienced this? It’s a very sad time. Sending love to anyone that’s experienced a loss x

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I had exactly the same thing happen but at 7 weeks and I think my HCG levels were only in the 500s. The bleeding got heavier and with further blood tests they were happy that the pregnancy was ending naturally. It's such a hard time xx

@9422x Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate it. Sounds awful but I’m actually praying for a rapid decline in my HCG as that means it’s not ectopic and will resolve naturally. How long did it take for the heavy bleeding to start?

how are you doing now? ❤️

I completely get where you're coming from, it was almost a relief when I got the next blood results back and my HCG had dropped to around 100. I'd had a few days of spotting which prompted the visit to the EPU. The heavy bleeding started the night after we'd been to the EPU but it was just like a heavy period. I had a hot water bottle, some paracetamol and went to bed.

Sadly our second pregnancy also ended with a miscarriage. Some more spotting and a scan at 7 weeks showed an empty sac. That one was more painful with cramps and I think I struggled a lot more emotionally with our second loss.

Luckily, we conceived again and I'm now 12 weeks. Our EPU have been amazing and scanned me at 6 and 9 weeks as well as giving me progesterone from our positive test.

Oh bless you. Sorry for your loss 💜It’s already a lot to go through prepping for pregnancy then not knowing how you’ve lost that pregnancy.

were you trying for long the next 2 times?

Thank God for this pregnancy 🤞🏾 this little star will progress healthily x

We just tried to focus on the positives, and that for whatever reason they just weren't meant to be.
We were incredibly lucky to conceive our first month of TTC. We then conceived 3 months after the first miscarriage, and again this time it was 3 months after our second miscarriage. I'm desperately hoping that this little one is healthy and sticks around. Thank you xx

I had this in the summer last year but my numbers started to decline originally and the next week had doubled. So at that point they gave me methotrexate injections to stop the pregnancy which worked without issue. They also couldn't find it anywhere in the uterus or the tubes so it was concerning.

Blessedmummytobe · 27/05/2023 09:06

@Rtmhwales sorry you went through that. It’s nerve wracking and confusing because your just asking yourself where on earth could it go? If you don’t mind me asking did any one pass large clots? I haven’t so far. Still no pain or really heavy bleeding apart from when I pee. I expect that’s on the way. Spoke with the hospital and my numbers have gone from 2584 to 1261 which is good as seems to rule out ectopic and supports miscarriage. I’m back on Wednesday for a repeat blood test…I’m all kinds of drained x
