Hello everyone!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have super constipated since day one. I have Movicol on prescription and also use Microlax when needed unfortunately. But how do I get Movicol down easily?! I’ve thrown up a couple of times after just mixing with water, I’ve tried with orange juice, Strawberry cordial…
How do you guys do it?! Any tips and tricks?

I've had to give it to my toddler recently. 50% movicol, 50% orange juice works well. You need enough juice to disguise the weird salty taste.
Also you can make jelly with it - usual pack of jelly cubes, dissolve in a tiny bit of plain water in the microwave then make up to 1 pint with the movicol.
Add a tbsp of the made up mixture to soups, stews, pasta sauce.
I've also heard of people adding it to thick chocolate milkshakes...
This is all assuming you're using a plain one,not a flavoured version.

I have the plain one very very regularly. Even before pregnancy. I have to make it into a pint worth with squash (bit more than usual) and drink it with a meal. It's the only way I can tolerate it.
Best of luck, constipation is awful šŸ’

Have you tried fybogel? Not great in an emergency, but helps to keep things regular when you've shifted this.

What flavour do you have? I use the unflavoured one, and I add about 1/3 sachet into a big mug of tea, and repeat that x 3 throughout the day.
I'm fussy with taste but I can't taste it when I do it this way.

I find magnesium citrate has quite a similar effect, if you're able to swallow the (big) tablets. I use Solgar and have been mostly Movicol free when I take two a day.
