Baby Name Help - Girl

Hello! I've just found out I'm having a girl and I am SO stuck on names. I'm not looking for something too 'out there', I quite like an old fashioned name. My front runners at the moment are Theodora, Florence, Lillian, Violet and I did like Effie.. although none of those are particularly stand-outish. Help! P.S. surname is one syllable, fairly common.

Thank you!!

Theodora made my short list but I ruled it out due to the popularity of Theo, Theodore, Teddy and even Thea. It’s a beautiful name though. I love all your choices but I think Lillian is my favourite there. It has a ring of Marion about it which I also really loved. I love old lady names that work on little girls and women. Congratulations btw!

I like Stella as slightly 'old fashioned' but I feel.like it's a slightly different vibe to those other ones you've mentioned.

Lillian is my favourite out of those but @Spottypineapple Stella is lovely!

Florence or Lillian are my favourites from your list. How about:

Matilda
Isabella
Ophelia
Isadora
Miriam
Estelle
Dorothea
Lydia
Astrid

I like Thea and Effie. There’s Evie, Ivy, Ella (Isabella), Josie/Josephine.

I always loved the name 'Genevieve'.. It's a French girl's name that means "of the race of women," and it comes from the medieval Germanic name Genovefa, or Kenowefa.

I like Theodora and Violet but they are both quite overused (when you include the Theodores). Lily is a bit tired and that’s what she’ll end up being called. Florence is a wee bit wet. I like Effie short for Elizabeth.

Dorothea
Flora
Adela
Diana
Claudia
Lydia
Marianne
Genevieve
Vivienne

I loved Florence (using Florrie as a nickname) and it was nearly the name we picked, but we fell in love with Bonnie and knew it was her name.

Others we had on the list were:

Ottilie
Dulcie
Hattie
Aster
Tallulah

Alexandria

I adore Florence

LOL, my aunts had several of the names you like - the only one you've missed is Lavinia - she was actually Lavinia Rose.
