Above and below my section scar is still numb. My child is 10!

cocksstrideintheevening · 25/05/2023 14:32

Mine is still numb and Dts are 12

Amazongirl9 · 25/05/2023 14:34

Yup mine is 25, and still no sensation in that area.

MissyB1 · 25/05/2023 14:36

Years never mind months! About 14 years so far 😬

IlIlI · 25/05/2023 14:38

I remember either googling this or asking on Mumsnet a few months after mine and everybody saying they still have it years later. Now I'm here, can confirm!

Mentionitismethinks · 25/05/2023 14:50

Yup 11yrs on my belly is still numb

FictionalCharacter · 25/05/2023 15:07

Mine was numb above the scar for probably a couple of years. The sensation gradually came back completely.

I don't think my stomach muscles have ever recovered from 3 C sections - I had the pains around the scar for many years (youngest is now 23) but recently noticed that however much ab work I do, I never feel it in my lower abs and wonder if the nerves have just disappeared somehow Grin

MariaVT65 · 25/05/2023 15:25

Yes mine was numb for months, completely normal. It’s just a shame women aren’t given all this info before being discharged.

HelloVeritas · 25/05/2023 15:26

27 years here - used to it now

DontTouchMyMug · 25/05/2023 15:28

Yep numbness from the first which was 7 years ago.

I also have numbness in my arm where I had surgery in 2012

CherryBlossomAutumn · 25/05/2023 15:28

Yes. 15 years on. Completely used to it now and don’t even notice it. If the feeling came back it would probably freak me out!

Anoana · 25/05/2023 15:33

Didn't have c-section but still have numbness after a tummy tuck. They cut through all the layers of muscle and nerves so it's sort of inevitable.

chopc · 25/05/2023 15:35

Had my last CC 15 years ago and the sensation around my scar has never returned

PaperNests · 25/05/2023 15:37

Yes me too, 11 years and counting my whole abdomen is numb. Feels like a thick piece of fabric tied round my waist. My mum is a midwife and said she'd never heard of this as a side effect of C-section before, but then there's never been anyone official for me to report it to but I know from on here that it's really common.

5childrenand · 25/05/2023 15:46

Yes some numbness still there 11 years on.

blahblahblah1654 · 25/05/2023 20:29

Yes still numb 3 years on. Not expecting the feeling back.
