Embryo grade changed after thaw

Is it normal for an embryo grading to change after a quick thaw? I had a 4AB frozen at day 5 from ivf and they have thawed it for this frozen cycle but I didn't know that the grade changed due to the thaw so it is now a 3BB. The embryologist did say that it hadn't quite got back to blast yet but all the cells were live so he was not worried.

Any clue what this means? I don't know if it helps but it was thawed roughly 2 hours before transfer.

It is practically meaningless. There is no way of knowing if an embryo will implant regardless of what grade it is. The same thing happened to me and that embryo is now 2 years old. I had so called perfect embryos that failed implantation. It really is not worth worrying about. Fingers crossed.

@Betterbear thank you! There are so many things that are not in books or told until it happens. Just when I think I understand things or know the outcomes there's always something else!! My perfect one ended in miscarriage and I know many that have had better luck with lesser grades. That's the things with the statistics, we don't all fit into them most of the time. Thanks for sharing!!

@Betterbear thank you ☺. I am trying not to think about it and keep distracted. Definitely not as hopeful knowing the last one ended but what will be will be!
