TMI - PICTURE

37 weeks and 4 days today, have had diarrhoea again this morning, with a new discharge. Is this typical pregnancy discharge, mucus plug coming away or potential infection please? I am sorry for the picture, it's a little gross.

It could be either plug or discharge tbf.
If it doesn't smell then I wouldn't worry about infection right now but be mindful of it if you start feeling unwell.
I think if its plug it will become more and more obvious and keep happening.
If you get any pains or concerned then there's no harm ringing you maternity unit or midwife for advice 😊

I'd go with mucus. The plug is hard to miss & blood through, mines was a huge big thing in my last pregnancy, I couldn't believe it!

As new discharge I'd still mention it to the midwife at next appt (if soon or give them a buzz)

Just normal discharge, not plug. You’ll know when it’s your plug! Good luck!

Dd 's midwife told her diarrhoea was nature's way of clearing the body out before labour. Not sure if that was true in her case though as a few days later she had to be induced.
