Present for my pregnant daughter

I don’t live near my pregnant (20 weeks) daughter. I would like to send her a present that is for her, not the baby (they will come later). Any ideas? What would you have liked at this point? Thank you

She will appreciate that! I’d love a voucher for a pregnancy massage or facial. Even better if it came with a short amount of time like an afternoon using the spa facilities - pool etc.

msisfine · 23/05/2023 09:11

My partner booked and paid for a nice hotel room for when the baby was about 4 months old, so I could have a whole evening to myself while he looked after her. It was bliss.

ViaRia01 · 23/05/2023 09:14

Is this her first pregnancy (or might she already have something mummy-to-be items)?

pampering bath stuff is nice but as hot baths are not advisable done women steer clear altogether. So that’s a maybe. Or pamper stuff for after the shower - bump mask sheet, massage oils, moisturiser. A pregnancy-safe face mask sheet?

an exercise ball/ birthing ball? A bit practical but something she may not know she wants. Hot water bottle.

an experience such as a pedicure as she will soon not been able to reach her toes!!

if budget is high, maybe a mum to be photoshoot session…?

Hopeful16 · 23/05/2023 09:18

Is this her first? I think it's quite tricky really. I wouldn't have wanted a massage or people touching me but you know her better than any of us.
Maybe some nice edible treats. Afternoon tea/ brownies delivered. But again this will depend how she's feeling.
Paying to get her nails done might be nice if that's a thing she likes.
Depending on budget, booking her and her OH a night away pre-baby.

Yep pregnancy massage or pedicure with foot scrub etc. Or if something smaller then a nice sleep spray, candle or face mask, new slippers, pjs. That kind of thing

Tiredmummaoftwo · 23/05/2023 09:19

Clarins do the BEST pregnancy massage on a water bed!! X

Upanddownthemerrygoround · 23/05/2023 09:20

If it’s her first, I’d have loved a night away in a hotel, if the budget ran to that. If not, then a theatre or cinema or restaurant trip with my other half. The sort of thing that I’d really difficult once the baby is here.

Currently pregnant and I would love:

  • some high end stretch mark cream
  • vouchers to a beauty place (I’d probably get my nails done or a pregnancy massage)
  • skims support shorts (she might take offence at this but I’d love some practical presents)
  • vouchers to get new bras as none of mine fit and they cost a fortune!
  • maternity pjs
  • a maternity sleep pillow
Cookiedough123 · 23/05/2023 09:42

When I was that pregnant my clothes had just started to stop fitting me and I wanted to start wearing maternity clothes so maybe buy her some stretchy maternity pants or t shirts or a nice dress. I was about 20 weeks this time last year I think and remember buying some nice summer dresses as I felt uncomfortable in everything else!!

MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy · 23/05/2023 10:49

Maternity photoshoot
Manicure pedicure voucher
Cinema tickets
Letterbox hamper
I'll come back if I think of more (working at mo)

MuddaUdders · 23/05/2023 10:55

I received a Bloom and Blossom pamper set

bloomandblossom.com/products/pregnancy-gift-set-youve-got-this-mama

which I used up until I gave birth. The body oil is lovely x

MuddaUdders · 23/05/2023 10:56

Congrats by the way!

MapofVenice · 23/05/2023 10:57

whats your budget? I still use my BB hug me pregnancy pillow with a 2 year old!

FusionChefGeoff · 23/05/2023 11:07

Voucher for maternity clothes - I resented paying for something I'd use so briefly but the few proper bits I bought made me feel so much better about myself

LemonLimeDivine · 23/05/2023 11:25

A pregnancy massage or a really good pregnancy pillow. I bought the BB Hug Me which was a splurge but I still use it and my daughter is now 2. Soooo comfy!

MissTrant · 24/05/2023 10:26

Thank you for all these ideas! Brilliant. I have ordered some already and the rest are on a list - thank you again.

It sounds like a self-care package would be perfect for your daughter. Consider sending her a pampering gift like a subscription to a pregnancy box, such as here or this one. Additionally, you could add a personal touch by including a best-selling novel if she enjoys reading, or a gift card for a maternity store or a local spa that offers prenatal massages. The focus here is on her comfort and well-being, which she'll definitely appreciate.

TallulahBetty · 24/05/2023 13:08

Vouchers for Just Eat/Deliveroo/etc. I really appreciated this (before and after birth) when I just couldn't face another freezer meal/ready meal

chubo · 24/05/2023 13:39

I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and if it was me I would want a gift that is about me and unrelated to the pregnancy.

Something that would remind me I'm still a person and not just a baby vehicle.
