Hello everyone,

I am 28 weeks pregnant.
Ants have gotten into our house the last couple of days and today I drank a glass of water with ants in it! I know I swallowed one. They’re out in our garden where unfortunately a lot of cats also pass on by and sometimes use as a toilet…
Now I’m of course worried about the ants carrying toxoplasmosis😭.
Am I being totally paranoid?? (hate this bloody pregnancy anxiety)

In the nicest possible way...yes you're being paranoid! Don't give it another seconds thought x

Very gently, yes you are being totally paranoid. I ate half an Italian restaurant before I realised cured meats were out and my children are fine. An ant diluted in a pint of water will do little damage!

You are being a bit paranoid yes, but pregnancy does odd things to us.

Food is legally allowed to have a certain percentage of insect bits in before it's considered a health hazard because insects are everywhere and they get into and onto food all the time so it would be physically impossible for food manufacturers to have 100% insect free manufacturing.

And you dont hear about huge amounts of people with toxoplasmosis do you?

You will be fine and you've had an extra very little bit of protein today.
