Period is later than normal

So I’m on cycle day 28 and my period hasn’t come yet. My periods are very irregular, can range from 21 to 26 days usually so this is late for me. I don’t know when I ovulate, but I had a very weird bleed 9 days ago. It was brown so I expected my period to come, but it didn’t. It was brown for 2 days then it stopped. Me and DP aren’t actively trying as such but we’re not using anything so it’s basically if it happens it happens. We last dtd 7 days ago but obviously this was after the bleed. Before then it was every couple of days or so right after my period. I’ve tested today and I’m negative. Can anybody help 😫

Also forgot to mention I’ve not had my usual pms symptoms which I’d expect to have a week before my period is due, but my nipples have been SO SORE.

I think a pregnancy test would tell you at this point, people seem to take them earlier than the day period is due, I'd pop and get one just to check. Good luck!

I took a cheapie and that came back negative 😩
