what shape is your bump?

i've got a flat bit at the front of the bump, around my belly button. i was like this first time around too -- it's quite noticeable in profile. i don't like it, it looks like i've planed a bit off. does anyone else have this?

What position is your baby in bakedpotato? Doesn't this often show a breech or posterior position of the baby?

popsycal · 10/12/2004 11:13

lopsided.....big bulge to the right of my belly button...either a head or a bum! and slightly flat like yours (and I am breech and posterior we think......oh joy)

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 10/12/2004 11:14

misread that one Grin

and didn't see it was in pregnancy either?

thought you were asking about bums Grin

H&T, feel free to contribute if you have something impassioned to say about the shape of your bum. it must be a fine specimen.

hadn't thought of breech though see the logic. it has been this shape for a few weeks it doesn't come and go, is yours the same popsycal and MW has been pretty sure baby was headdown on a couple of appts. however, at the moment i AM feeling more movement at the side than top or bottom, though. [fear emoticon]

BUT i was like this with DD who wasn't breech or posterior, so won't panic, just perhaps spend quite a lot of time leaning forward over kitchen worktops and plates of cakes

LOL! Me too Twig! Was only when I saw the topic that I re-read it!!

smellymelly · 10/12/2004 11:59

I look like I have a basket ball shoved up my top!! I'm carrying all out front, very round and hard. My belly button is sticking right out, dd calls it a bubble!

I also have a fibroid near the front which is the size of a large egg, that sticks right out when I get a tightening - it is so attractive. :)

Leogaela · 10/12/2004 12:30

Mine sounds a bit like smellymelly's except i would describe as a water melon, belly button is still in though (just) (and no egg!)!

The baby can turn from breech into normal position in the last few weeks though can't it?

Chuffingoodtime · 10/12/2004 13:51

Yes the babies move all the time.
Mine was a basketball too (8mths ago now) but one day I lay on the couch with my feet up which must have encouraged bub to turn around and all of a sudden my bump was flatter and a slightly different shape.
They say basketball is a boy and watermelon are girls but I had a girl so that wives tale seems to be a little incorrect.

BP i am exactly the same as you. All through my pregnancy i have been told that i am so small but it's not really it's just the shape is weird! lol
I know baby was transverse for ages but last couple of app MW told me he was head down. No change in shape of stomache though! Belly button is very close to being an outy just a little more to go. I am 35 weeks btw.

popsycal · 10/12/2004 14:14

yes BP - my bump has been the same for weeks,,,

but my belly button NEVER pops out.....

bakedpotatohoho · 10/12/2004 14:18

my bb didn't pop out last time and with luck this time won't either. maybe the flat bit is something to do with having an inny? so it might all change fufmum
