Early scan, gestational sac & yolk sac seen but no fetal pole

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice really.

Pregnant with my second baby (1st pregnancy was completely book, he is now turning 4 next week. Had an early miscarriage/chemical in November last year whilst TTC baby no2)

My 1st day of my LMP was 1st April, which would have made me 7wks yesterday. I went for a scan & they could just seen a Gestational sac & Yolk Sac, but no fetal pole.

My cycles vary each month from 28 days - 35 days & I always seem to ovulate around CD17/18. Would this have an effect on my dates?
Sorry, I’m not clued up enough on cycle’s etc as I should be!!

I have to go back on June 10th for a repeat scan.

If your cycle was a longer one this month you could have ovulated later and so would be more like 6 weeks rather than 7. I hope your next scan goes well.

This is what I’m thinking, but also am obviously expecting the worst.

The sonographer didn’t seem worried, he said that everything was in the right place etc, just probably got my dates wrong.

Just an update in case anyone ever goes through the same thing.

I had a second scan today & measured 8+4, all absolutely fine, strong heartbeat seen 🥰
Due to my irregular cycles, I was just too early on the 1st scan.
