Mouth Breathing

I've always been a bit of a Darth Vader (I didn't realise mouth breathing was bad until now and I'm 34 😭😭) and I just cannot breathe through my nose. This has become so much more exacerbated during pregnancy and I'm not 32 weeks pregnant waking up every 40 mins with a horrendous dry mouth from mouth breathing. I know it can be linked to GD but I've had a recent test for that and it isn't GD.
Does anyone have any tips or advice? Midwife was quite dismissive when I mentioned it but I'm exhausted 😭

It's normal for nasal mucosa to become more congested and swollen in pregnancy - should get better once you've had the baby. There are artificial saliva sprays - maybe worth looking at?

I had this. Saline spray in the nose helped a bit (just saline, nothing medicated) but tbh other than that just had to suffer through. Disappeared basically as soon as I delivered, and I'm really enjoying breathing through my nose again. 😂

I'm in the exactly the same position. I had bad sinuses and allergies prior to pregnancy. Since being pregnant I've had rhinitis the whole time (I'm 30 weeks now) and the amount of mucus I produce astounds me. I could bottle it up for kids to use in their craft activities.

I struggle to sleep with dry mouth & mouth breathing. I'm going to try Sterimar and Beconase nasal spray (the only thing that worked for me before) as I am getting to the point of exhausted frustration.

I hope once baby arrives that it will settle properly. Hang in there xx
